Wholesale pricing

Idea from real life: The more You buy, the better prices You get. Very real life-like, and would probably increase the fun factor for traders, as they could get more cash.

This should also mix well with coming capships, as people will be able to trade a lot of goods with them.

Far from a new idea but, still a great idea. Especially given that stations pay less for more.

Surely, but wholesale market should be kept separated...

Just like mining station, that pays 100c for each cu of Xore, but if you take mission requesting 500cu of Xore, it will pay 130c each...

Also for purchasing and transport... sort of Logistics Guild for wholesale, and trade guild for small ones...

Most/all pay below peek price. If you need something enough to put an ad or mission out for it, I think you would be willing to pay slightly higher than peek to make it worth it to the miner.

Nope, they all pay well above the average rate, for example...

Van Azek: 39 fer cu

mission for the same ore... 550 per cu

I used existing mining missions as example on how to implement wholesale market. They really pay way above market, too much, as Tarenty stated.

Also, the 'bulk' missions from Trade Guild should be reduced, or migrated to Logistics Guild, or whatever name it gets. And those missions should provide a few moths and/or a trident/connie as rental... increase profit & risks, while allowing fewer travels.

You wanna get wholesales pricing? Get a mission for bulk trades.

Or else you are simply incentivating stockpiling and favouring the richer traders...

Though I do like the idea of bulk-purchase discounts, I think it might end up being largely exploitable and not sure such an exploit would be a good thing.

Eg.
Buy bulk at 100,000x unit price
Sell less bulk, to 100x or 10x at a time.

Could even write a plugin to sell the smaller quantity of the item at each station dock (when a profit is made?).

Again not necessarily an unwanted exploit, as we currently lack good ways to make money. Just noting that the #'s in whatever implementation is made need to match up really well or we might have a huge money-making exploit in the works.

EDIT: as for Alloh's comments... I do understand your intentions are good dude, and that you THINK they are on topic... But sadly I think you're lack of control over the english language makes it hard for you to understand what "on-topic" really is :( Do you use google-translate to convert your posts from some other language? Cause I thought auto-translation had improved in recent years. Guess I was wrong :(

Bulk trades are good, but not ehough. You are using closed-mind thinking and You tie players' hands because of that. Give the players more freedom of what they want to do the way they like it.

I personally want to buy a capship, and transport 10000cu cargo at once, and i want to get HELL of a good wholesale price for that.

Ryan, 39/cu is extremely low. I said peak price, not lowest price in the galaxy.

Paladin, there is one caveat: Logistics. The main problem here is VO's infinite storage.

If it is made as you propose, VO trade will resume to distribution: Buy bulk, fractionate and sells small packs. Even back to same station that sold cheaper in bulk...

Also "market" offer and demand, as regulatory for pricing, would have to be severily tweaked if done your way.

I prefer tie it to missions, that permit some form of "market controls" and seems a better simulation in a "mostly-NPC-consumer-base". And more in tune to VO universe. And would justify to offer you NPCs piloting Moth, trident or connie for hire, or a cappie for rent.
