Right off the bat, this is low priority.

Rather than the screen we have while the sector loads, I'd like to see some type of animation. The first thing that comes to mind is the opening sequence of Doctor Who, something like that any ways. reason being, it would just look nicer and possibly add to immersion. Jumping and seeing the same advice repeatedly while staring at the load screen is just dull.

Yeah, there are a lot of historical suggestions on here for various loading-screen animations. It's a good idea.

We have a lot of plans for how to change the loading of data in general, which could nearly-eliminate the need for loading screens at all. But it could be next year before we're able to implement some of that stuff.

Cool.

Basic idea, already explored somewhere else:

Make the loading screen become the jump animation iitself.

Most basic implementation, put a tunnel effect as load screen, so you feel as if you are crossing the wormhole.
