Inventory
Right now I have crap scattered all over the galaxy and no good way of sorting through it. Instead, I have the "Inventory" tab of my PDA.
On a first glance it seems nice enough, but it only lets you "sort" your items by station. So, if you want to find out, say, where that last Mega Posi you're sure you have might be, you need to do the following:
1. Click on a station in the list.
2. See if it's in the station storage.
3. Click on a ship (if any) that is docked there.
4. See if it's equipped to a ship.
5. See if it's in the ship's cargo hold.
6. Repeat from step three until you've looked through all of the ships listed.
7. Repeat from step one until you've looked through all of the stations listed.
Even if you only have stuff in five stations, with one ship in each, that's a lot of dicking around when all you want to do is find a single add-on and get on with the fun.
Please give me a way to at least change my top-level grouping, so instead of just seeing a list of stations, I can choose to see a list of ships or a list of add-ons. When I click on said ship or add-on, *then* show me where it is.

I haven't tried station finder myself, though something that allows us to search the inventory, would be really nice to have BUILT INTO THE GAME.
No, I won't be installing third-party stuff written by who knows so I can work around a problem that should be solved in the game client itself.
Vordark, in my opinion most plugins should be revised and receive offcial sanction, offered to all, just like optional upgrades WITHOUT WARANTY and with possible collateral damages. But that is another topic.
Just check how many options can be added with plugins, and involved complexity to learn use all these options for newbies...

Ok, we added a ticket to the Trac relating to this. Ray says it might take a couple of days to implement, so it won't be appearing super fast or anything (not like.. tonight, but maybe next week, or if we get time over this month).
+1, and it would be great if "sort" option for station inventory would be implemented, that will remove mess. Atm if you have very many items they don't sort by type you selected and there's unorder. For example, I choose "sort by name" in the options and inventory still sorts in exotic way.. maybe add tabs or list headers for every type of inventory. For example rockets, missiles, blasters, cannons, batteries, etc.
Alloh: I have no interest in discussing plug-ins. At all.
Incarnate: Sweet! I can't wait to see how you guys make this work.

Tonight's update should give you what you want. You will be able to double-click on the item to open a sublist of where that item is located.
Woo!! ty raybondo, I've been wanting this for a long long time!!!
raybondo: I love you.
