+ Line-up weapon ports in Behemoth (standart).
In standart moth the ports are too far from each other, that even AGT doesn't auto target. It would be great if ports will be in the center of ship (like in taur), so I could fire and use energy weapon, like megaposis in the ship's back with success. :}
E.g. Aeolus light moth has it's alone L-port in the center of the ship.

what sense does this make, Look at the outside of the moth. Where do you see the guns?
besides, it's perfect for mines.
I'd actually prefer the ports facing behind the moth.
hire a gunner
Give the moth 500 large ports yeehaw
crazyspence hit the mark right on.
the moth is not a combat ship. it's weapons are placed for defensive purposes only. the AGT is NOT a defensive weapon (unless it's an independent turret).

if the behemoth doesn't absolutely 100% need to fill its ports with mines while trading, then it's horribly horribly broken.
eh. chaos swarms can work well if you know what you're doing. but you have to time things really well, and the attacker has to be coming in a pretty stupid trajectory... and even then it's more like a 50% chance of escape.
I'm with Fluffy on this one. Make the ports face backwards, who in their right mind would go head to head in a Moth?
I would! Spence would! Making ports face backwards would ruin mothwars.
If ports will be line-up'ed I could strike convoys on Behemoth without swarms, but with megaposis... Eh, sweet dreams!

Location now is perfect for mines and missiles.
But since I cannot use my own turret, and hiring a gunner is a myth, I wish to see new versions of Moths, one replacing stern turret with a Lport, other ultra-heavily armoured but (almost) without cargo.

Alloh,
That's called the prom :p
That's called the prom :p
Really not. Proms have no turrets, are faster and agile and good payload, while the Defender Moth was supposed to have 3x its armour at expense of no storage. Aimed to escort convoys, as an pocket capship, or an rude but cheap ironclad, like the last step before a shielded capship.
I don't see a moth doing combat due its bad spin, instead, improvements should be aimed at trader / convoy survival.
The stern port is a cheaper replacement for gunners.
OR gives us rent NPC gunners...

Off topic... tsk tsk tsk...
Alloh, I know lots of folk that hire gunners... perhaps the problem is more that you are universally hated.
+1 to OP
Although I have not used a moth to hunt anything in a while now, I did not recall there being a problem. The moth can only ambush, being too slow to chase a voy down. Have you tried a sting mposi combo?

This is a poorly thought out suggestion - effectively a nerf of the moth's ability to use any sort of weapon one would usually elect to mount. It reduces the spread of laid mines, swarms, and jackhammers.
Only idiots and people fucking about use energy weapons on a moth.

Hey, I am very greedy outlaw, Doc :} And I successfully hunt traders and voys on my moth with 2xChaos swarms. No XC and Heavy miners have ever escaped this setup.
Hunting voys in moth give many benefits, like you don't need to change ship every time you blow up enemy moth.
I tried to use Aeolus in hunting, but IMHO it doesn't mean really sense and better to use standart moth, because aeolus has only 80 cu of cargo. So it's bigger than taur 48 and atlas 32 and that's kinda challenging to kill more than one of it at a time with 1L port moth trident and convoy guards on your tail (though I always continue my experiments :} ). And 48 cu of cargo is able to loot even standart taur and maud.
It's possible to use 2xmegaposis even now, but as I said it's difficult to aim. Why to use megaposi instead of swarms? At least because you don't need to reload after each killed moth and it's much more lighter than swarms :)
