Denerf the Terradon
Cappies are currently useless in combat with other cappies.
1. Decrease reload time for weapons.
2. Decrease shields or recharge rate.
3. Increase cappies weapons range.
and 4. not as important but, if I take out a cappie I feel that getting 200xp (same as I get for a Vulture) is a bit ridiculous.

I like 1 & 3. For 2, if you increase the rate of fire and the range, you might actually need to increase the shields a bit.
I'm not sure I'd nerf the Teradon, sure, I don't think it should solo a Constellation, but I've only seen it do that due to a navigation glitch that put it right up against the Connie.
I'd say a Connie should have the firepower to drop a tridents shields and maybe even the Teradons. However, at present, cap ship warfare is extremely simple. I'd love to see more complex battles between them instead of the Constellations sitting about 5000 m from each with a trident that ineffectually defends it while the other trident and Teradon go off to shoot at the enemy Con.
I'd also like to see the guass optimized for long range, add some gatling or similar weapons for ships that are within 500 meters, and change the swarms to turret missiles- with the slower reload time. That would make it a real warship rather than a target with a ton of shields.
I suspect it'd be a hell of a lot of programming and debugging to move that forward though.

Ok, the tera can solo a HAC, just so you know.
Death Fluffy,
I'm not saying nerf the Terradon, I'm saying denerf it. Bring it back to the days when it could tear through a ships shields. Also, I don't really have any issue with improving shields either, the ideas I put forth would...(if implemented)... probably need several rounds of tweaking to find a decent balance, I would just like to see capitol ships have some type of use other than a place to reload and repair or serve as a nearly impenetrable fortress for people to ride out border skirmishes in.
Waffles,
I know they were able to at one point, but in the past year or so the only ships I've seen Terradons able to kill unassisted are the Tridents. The only times I've seen Terradons take out Constellations, HACs or other Terradons is if myself and a group of other players cracked the shields. In fact, not counting Tridents I have not in recent history seen any capitol ships solo another capitol ship.

terradons cant take a hac solo....but need very little help (one rag unstacked swarms will do it)
I wasn't disagreeing with you, I was expounding on the thoughts your post provoked.
And yes, a teradon can currently take out a hac. It takes a navigation glitch to do so, but when the teradon is close enough to both use its guass / whatever the hell that is as well as its gatling turret, it will rip straight through the hac's shields like Lecter's personality through warm newbies. :p
I've seen it and it pissed me the fuck off because I'd just saved that hac from a previous attack and gotten its shields back up.

I'm pretty sure the connie already had the fire power it needs to drop the shields of a trident, the issue is how the cap sips prefer to fight. If the cap ships would navigate to present their most heavily turreted sides to their target the connie would easily be able to take out tridents on its own. The cap gauss already has plenty of range all it really needs is to be pointed at a cap ship and prioritize that cap ship even if its 2km away.
As for the teradon it is more or less fine as it is, a few AI adjustments would make it more effective. The big plasma cannons for one could do with the ability to fire from a bit farther away. I've seen several cases where the teradon would simply stare at a target and be whittled to death by 1 cap gauss turret because the distance it chose to maintain was beyond the distance the plasma cannons would fire at.
