"Why is this shit back?"
yes. let's call things names. lovely.
If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it. Simple.
Anyone else want to play nanny? No? Good.
Now, why is this shit back?
The turrets already automagically heal themselves, have a rapid respawn rate, and have no limit on number of times they can respawn. What more do you jerkoffs want?
[edit]Incarnate is wrong and can and should reconsider. Check your station, keep someone at your station, or hope your defenses hold until you get back. The level of assisted entrenchment doesn't need to be raised further.[/edit]

Well, incarnate said they "can and should" implement the suggestion, so I guess people want to remind him to keep it on the to-do list.
In response to Lecter's edit; no. The way it is now is stupid and boring. The only time anyone takes a station is when the current owners are absent off doing something else. They take it without any player resistance whatsoever. There's no battle or struggle over it. It's just a matter of who can time it so the current owners don't notice it's being attacked. Right now a single defender can hold off 3 or 4 attackers, so nobody tries to take a station that's being actively defended. It's completely and utterly stupid.
In-game notifications are a must. There is absolutely no RP reason why we shouldn't be notified if our station is under attack while we are in-game. Once the notifications are added, the defenses can be tweaked so it's reasonably possible to take a station that is being actively defended, given a decent attack force, as it should be.

I haven't seen this proposed as being in connection with any cuts to the stations' automated defenses as I described them above. Unless and until I see that, there's no reason to implement this; indeed, as you note there's no point to trying to take a defended station because of how far the balance has been shifted towards entrenched defenders.
You're putting the cart before the horse with this idea: fix the terrible balance (which your own post admits) and then worry about notice. Otherwise, you're just further fucking an already fucked game mechanic.

All I suggest is in-game notification.
Well, the balance is the way it is now I think because nobody wants to sit at their station all day doing nothing. If a defender checks in on a station half way through an attack, there is still a chance to save it. If the defenses were nerfed, it would be even quicker and easier to take the station when nobody was defending, further encouraging the tactic.
I'll start another thread on how to nerf the defenses, as not to hijack this one.

It should and will always be easier to take an undefended station. I'm sure the defenders would prefer they not have to work; the attackers probably don't feel that way.
So, did you have some sort of a point? Or were you just making an idiotic statement for the Hell of it?

Yeah, my point is that we should have in-game notifications for when our turrets are attacked. Conquerable stations are supposed to promote player interaction, not discourage it.
So was ctc but look how that turned out..
