Station requirments list suggestion

May 10, 2010 pirren link
+Give 2x trade exp for bringing required commodities or weapons
+Give +5% more money for selling them

Now the situation is that most of the time you bring "station required commodities" with loss and minimal exp, especially if they need weapons. I suggest fixing this, maybe traders start to trade more and this will raise pirate industry, activity, recover economy and open new trade routes.

Yarr!!

+1

cept change +5% to something more drastic to encourage more trade.

Aye, +1 to OP.

Aticephyr: How does 30% sound?
May 10, 2010 Alloh link
10% more, BUT explicitly said.
i.e. When you sell a required item, station posts a Thanks message, saying it paid Yc instead of regular Xc.

This message will satisfy more the traders than simply increase price.

Like the idea of adding message! Though 10% could be too much for greedy traders!

I think the trade xp bit is more important to most people than the profit anyway. 5% increase in sale value should be fine as long as the trade xp is doubled or tripled. (Also, make sure that after a couple loads of a given "required good" are delivered, it falls off the list. Otherwise this would be incredibly exploitable).

how 'bout make the list of required trade goods actually work!

i'm pretty sure i haven't seen a profit from anything that is "requested" in the Welcome screen in over a year for sure

to be fair, I'm sure there's a profit if you buy from the right station. but hell, if a station is in desperate need, the sell price should be at the highest point in the demand curve, and be near impervious to bulk trading nerfs until the station's needs have been filled (which hopefully means a solid profit from most stations, and a damned good one if you know the right one to buy from).

Speaking of which, it might be interesting to show how many CU of item X the station needs... but I digress.

Again I tested today station requirement list with my Prom Mk2 (40 cu) in initros O-12, Pyronis L-6, Helios B7, only one place was in a very little profit and only 40-80 trade exp, two others with a loss. When I sold, it disappeared from list.

Btw, during test, I bought something in Initros and sold in pyronis without any station required list for 480 exp and more than 100% profit.

Sute it's better to ask traders about trade/exp atm, they know such things better.

I trade a lot myself, on multiple alts, and I think 20% more profit and a total of 250% trade xp would be best. The item should disappear after 500cus delivered, which is a decent store of any item, even for a station.

20% increase in profit is too much. We should start moving toward a player-run economy anyway, and shifting the focus of trading with NPC's from profit to xp is a good way to go about that. (Then you can even hire people to move cargo for you so that you can sell it for high XP, etc).
May 10, 2010 tarenty link
15%, then. Make it worth it.
May 11, 2010 pirren link
Make it worth it.

Yes, at list trader should feel rewarded and be rewarded for selling required commodities

Then you can even hire people to move cargo for you so that you can sell it for high XP, etc

offtopic: .. and then shoot your own hired people .. ^^ grey space is dangerous. I imagine how Blood Thirsty will hire people to move his cargo. Move, ye!!

Idea: Make the %s higher in grey to promote greyspace trade.
May 12, 2010 Alloh link
Nation space's stations pay 10% above regular price, while in gray pays 20% more.

More important than value itself is a pop-up window showing the increased profit and a thanks.

And it would attractive make one (some) marked item pays some 50% more, but for a small amount, like 20~50 regular items. This rare item asks for amount and is marked as URGENT.
