I like it, but leave the prox det at 20m.

Well because no one ever uses em with the rare ception of ecka who doesn't really play anymore...
really jackhammers are a better weapon with the 0.5 fire rate and the fact they're lighter and don't need any energy to shoot.

When used properly, Screamers bring the pain in a way that Jackhammers simply do not. It's a lot harder to use Screamers than Jacks, but that's hardly a reason to buff Screamers.
If there's any tweaking to be done, it's in how much energy the Screamers take per shot. That's it.

I have found screamers to be powerful and useful as-is.

I think people don't use Screamers for exactly the reason the Doc stated, they are harder than Jacks to use. Personally, I frequently use Screamers with great success. They are fine as is but, I wouldn't object to adding a few shots/keeping the weight, lowering the weight and keeping the same payload or tweaking the rate of fire as it is difficult to make an effective "rocket net" in their current state.
When I equip screamers I am deliberately choosing them over jacks because I think they will be more effective.
put a screamer on a new WTD and go fight a medium/heavy ship, then come back and tell me screamers need a bump.

Not everyone has your crappy aim, spidey, which necessitates a faster refire rate and/or bigger prox cone. Some people like the higher ammo count and 1000 extra points of damage. Learn to use Screamers or settle for how Jacks perform. But stop whining.
