I suggest the option for players to pick and choose the stats/badges they wish to be made public for their ingame character page.

I suggest that all character stats that can be viewed by another player ingame be available via web. Only information not normally visible to other players would be optional (detailed faction standings, bounties, etc)

Imagine the situation:
A newbie is invited to Someone's group, or to become buddy, or a deal offer.
Shall him accept?
Quick look in "Universal Pilots Database" tells you who is Someone: his stats, guild affiliation, etc.

And it really should be interesting to have the option to Pilot to "enter the shadows", when his stats are no longer updated, and have a stamp on it: "DANGER: Old Profile - Information Outdated"
