I never disputed WHY B8 BECAME popular, I've said it myself several times that it initially was due to CTC. I never said YOU fail, I said that CTC fails because due to current game mechanics, it has become completely irrelevant.

We do not fail for not caring about the (now irrelevant) CTC contest, CTC fails for not mattering.
