Increase turbo thrust on high-end interceptors

Over the distance of 3000m it won't make a huge difference...

But over 1500m it would make a decent difference. However, even if both ships were already going their top speeds, it would still take 20ish seconds for the gap to be closed, at which point the ec89 would have traveled 3200m.

alright, so I should really work out my math before trying to flame.

However, halving turbo speeds on trade ships would just make trading incredibly slow/boring, at which point we run into the problem of the 225m/s cap. However, I still do think that thrust should be increased on intercepter ships, as it shouldn't take nearly 15 seconds for a x1 to run down an ec89 already turboing at 500m. I'd rather it took more like 10 seconds.

What about if the turbo could be variably controlled? Officially I mean.

Fer example:
High 100% thrust might cost you 70 per second while a medium thrust 50% might only cost you 55 per second. Top thrust could be easily doubled without wrecking the overall balance and give the players a bit more choice in strategy. You could punch it to get moving and then dial back to conserve the batts.

Turbo Power would be good to have on an axis like accellerate BTW...

i approve of pakettles suggestion just cause i wanna say "thrusters to full captain"

hmm, rocket ramming wasn't the term i wanted. i mean using turbo to get close to your opponent and make your rockets close in faster. i don't know how doubling the turbo thrust on a bunch of light combat ships like you suggest would work out in practice, though.

I really dont think the X-1 needs a buff, it's already the fastest ship in the game (hound has higher infiniboost but slower acceleration) not to mention a metric shit ton of armor.

While you're heart is in the right place, your head isn't. Do you really think it should take a top-of-the-line interceptor (x1) with a damned light loadout over 10 seconds to reach it's top speed?

To be fair, a top-of-the-line interceptor in space shouldn't have a maximum speed.

Sorry, did you just start playing this game?
