Turrets on XCs
Yup, we should put turrets on XCs. It might encourage more gunners.

No. It's a cargo hauling ship that has max capacity of 200cu. Thus you give up the choice of weapons. If you don't like the risk or lack of weapon options, fly a different moth.
hmmm, give it one turret. Most the time you wont find a gunner anyway. Or make a variant with 180cu and one turret, that might balance it a bit.
I like the idea. It would encourage teamwork.
I'm for it having a single rear turret. I'm not sure it will get used, but it won't hurt anything and as strat says, teamwork is good (getting two PKs off an XC is also good). Maybe make a Mk II version w/o the turret that's 250cu?

Hokay, that does sound a little tasty... but I'd prefer it if the economy and all its 1-system in-nation trade routes were fixed, first.

Yeah, tridents are in need of a cargo buff. But that's another thread.
A MkII version with an added rear turret and a 500k price tag might work but its a very low priority with me.
Ok guys, we want a Moth XC mk2? Then make it require IT3 or something. The rest of the stats look good, but I suggest doubling the size of the moth to compensate.

The idea of XC is remove anything nor required to haul cargo. That includes weapons and turrets slots...
Want a turret? Use a regular moth. Want protection for a XC? Hire some escort. Even I do it when having valuable cargo!
BUT... if other faction does a 180cu moth with ONE turret...
And tridents can carry infinite load. Simply park/dock fully loaded XCs there... With 10 XCs you would have 2,300cu.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Alloh on this one.
The XC more or less justified its introduction by not being able to do anything but carry cargo. The whole idea hinged on the concept that the chassis was stripped down to accommodate the enlarged cargo bay. The omission of any turrets being added to the XC when the rest of the Moth variants got them reflects this; adding one just doesn't make any sense.
Frankly, Behemoths are overused in-game as-is. I see not need to give them a buff in any regard, much less the XC variant.

Heh, my original suggestion wasn't really a buff. Turrets are always second-rate next to individual escorts... I'd like to see more people in turrets.
Hey, Tank, there are other ways to do so, already on forum:
1) Invite gunner from anywhere
2) Rewards for being gunner, from ship owner
3) Stabilized turrets
4) More weapons variety on turrets = buy turret and a gun for it.
5) Specilized turrets: EMP, megaminer, StationUnlocker...
and more important to me, but not for teamwork:
000) Use my own turret(s)
