A couple nationalist medium assault ships...
The first one's a Serco hornet designed to fly infiboost with a heavy power cell.

Turbo Thrust: 300 N

The second one is a single L-port pencil of death for smurfs:
IDF Atlas (Elite Light Skirmisher Variant)
5/-/3/1/-
Price Range: 30-50k
Faction: +800 Itani
Ports: 1L, 1 Turret

They look pretty cool, but the single l-port and turret seems a bit underpowered compared to the hornet's 4 small due to lack of more effective turret weapons and, perhaps more importantly, lack of players willing to gun for a pilot. Pretty good otherwise.
Right now the IDF Atlas is all-around more agile than all of the warthog variants. I imagined it to sort of be a mega posi platform and, of course, the turret might play an interesting roll in dog fights given someone wanting to fiddle around with it.
Edit: yeah, I think there should definitely be more turret variants. Can't we get that uber gat turret type thing the moth heavies have? Maybe a conc rail turret or that swarm turret the tridents have?

I've been thinking about a positron turret and a turret that slows anything it hits, depending on mass.
That's called concussive force, lol.
Remember turret is facing back on Atlas, so not fit for dogfight. You have to be running away from enemy, not facing it.
Also, the Sport is really usefull for making a death pencil. But I still see this IDF Atlas more like a armoured courier/recon than a fighter.

It says skirmish, skirmish mean more than one ship. It would especially be useful in CtC because of the extra cargo and the gunner can keep the escorts off the ship while the pilot takes out the transport.
I'm all for the Atlas getting more variants (the B-Type always struck me as particularly useless, given that you get access to the superior X-type a the same time), but I really don't see it being modded into an Itani assault ship. Its a TPG-built freighter thats about as average as the color beige, and the only faction I know of that hotrods freighters into combat ships is Corvus (face it: they're the faction who makes the most sense to pull something like that, being pirates and all).
I'd suggest the Wraith as an alternative if it hadn't been phased out (it was originally an Itani design, if the fluff is to be believed). Maybe a new Centaur variant? I always thought its curvy design had a certain Itani bent to it...
Then again, its entirely possible I'm just over-thinking things...

Good point, I actually thought about the Wraith but it seemed a little odd that the Itani would get a miniprom. Perhaps a dual-Large port wraith?
Didn't someone suggest Axia make a Dual L-port wraith, the Banshee?
Don't. If the devs actually manage to like them having a 2 L-port ship, I will be highly disappointed.

Perfect for Itanis, then.

*want a ship with 1 small port, integrated repair bots, integrated group radar and integrated ion storm radar*
so it is something like a group coordination ship...something like the "Raptor" in BS:G

If this was added to the IDF Atlas i think it would be a fine ship. There eventually will be need/role for a command ship. And if one was around, I'm sure we would use it.
That hornet sounds scary :P

Sounds good.
Why are we UIT folk always looked over?
Because no one likes UIT, even though your the most played starting faction.
Which is dumb........
Ninnys.

ArAsH's point stands, though I boringly don't want to see new ships added but would rather see existing ships balanced.

Deciding between only two ships per faction, only two power cells, and only two weapons is really really boring D:
Besides, Serco and Itani should have a lot more crap, especially before the faction redux.

Ow. I still have a point, though.
Anyways, we do need more special variant ships, perhaps one specific variant of each ship (excluding a few specific ones, to add variety and choice) for the Big Three. That way, when faction redux rolls around, access for most of them becomes impossible, and everyone ends up having special ships, specially tailored for their faction.
Or something.
