Interesting, but potentially confusing as shit for noobs. Why not just make it fool turrets and SF? I'd suggest further that it not fool turrets inside a capital system WH or at a capital station.
I'd imagine the Serco/Itani ones to be used in Border Skirmishes... but it's still kind of a retarded idea while Serco can be Itani disliked and above and visa versa.
Lecter... good point.
Shank... I was thinking this would be geared more towards Nationalists and the inhabitants of Grey space. Granted, it is kind of superfluous when there are members of the ultra nationalist guilds that are PoS with their enemies nation however, when the faction fix happens this would be a great item to have for nationalist black ops. As the situation stands... it would be a great item for ACTUAL nationalists, Serco who are Itani KoS and visa versa.

Ryan, when you say must be Serco/Itani/Corvus respected, do you mean AT LEAST respected with the given nation? Plus, I'd think standing higher than respected would be required before a nation would sell you a device as technologically advanced as this with potential for diplomatic repercussions. (at least +600 or so instead?)
I'd also add that SF/turrets see through the deception after 2-3 minutes (maybe only if you come within 1000m of SF or turret?). That being how long it takes to cross-reference the info on the sensors with the database at HQ. That'd give enough time to slip through a wormhole, but would prevent camping a monitored sector (i.e. you'd have to continually jump sector to sector in monitored space to avoid detection).
This would also give an RP reason why it wouldn't work in capitol systems -- there is no delay to cross-reference with the records from HQ since they are located in the capitol system.

i do mean at least respected, as for "diplomatic repercussions"... what diplomacy? Serco and Itani are at war and Corvus is criminals... some how I dont think diplomatic repercussions are high on the worry list.
I disagree about the 2-3 minutes limit though. There is no logical reason for a turret or station guard to scan every single ship coming through.

Hated this one.
For me, the worst part of VO is lack of clear Friend/Foe identification. And this would make even worse.
Forget it.

I think the friend/foe identification is quite clear. If you're a pirate, we're friends, if you're not, we're foes.
Alloh, if you'd bothered to read my post, you'd see your whine has already been addressed. Go drape yerself over a barrel and receive some closet monster "candies."
Lesscter, other people can agree or disagree with any opinion expressed here, it is a sort of voting. And most incredible, this time I agree with you.
If you don't like, go back to your closet and stay there quiet, with the door closed. And no, I will not open the door for you.

Alloh thanks for the input... your hating of any idea is generally considered proof that the idea is, in fact a good idea.
To clarify for you though, this affects radar only. It does not change the color of the name, hell it doesn't even have work on players. As it is meant for use in nationalistic activities... like raids, all it needs to fool is station guards and border turrets.

Of course they can, Alloh. It's just that, in your case, doing so is both a crime against the English language and a substantively retarded point. You should post in your native tongue, since then you'd at least (I hope) be coherent.
And yet anouther attempt to bypass the turrets....
I've been looking at this sort of thing for years. But, the game is not ready for it yet. A lot of tradeoffs are needed, along with NPC border guards that scan people, and requirements that transponders only work for brief periods of time, or may occasionally fail, or whatever else.
The same goes for stealth addons, which have a lot of similar use cases. I'm actually in favor of such things, but a lot of additional tradeoffs and added gameplay are required to make them "a dangerous possibility" while not completely subverting the point of defenses and borders.

I see that the rotted, sanctimonious sponge that you call a brain got banged against your pissbucket of a skull one too many times while you were head-bobbing over Ecka's lap, PaK.
First, you'll note that even the noob hunting griefer suggested that it not fool the most dangerous turrets that guard Capital Systems/Stations. Second, as you well know, vets long ago figured out how to reliably defeat all turrets such that noobs are actually only safe at all within the training sectors.
XOXO, HTFH
P.S. The word for which you were looking was another. Try a little harder to keep up with your short-bus class, please.

And yet another person whining about a perceived way to bypass turrets who adds absolutely nothing of value to the thread. Guess what? It took me one try yo get past the turrets, taking no damage. It took me under ten minutes to go from KoS to disliked. Getting past the turrets is so easy even a trader/care bear could do it, to say nothing of the skilled pilots out there.

Yes it is quite easy to get past the turrets.... and yet so many suggestions with no purpose other then to bypass them...
Lecter, Whats yer point big boy?

So short sighted PaK...
As I stated earlier, this is aimed more at after the faction fix. It has a multitude of uses, why are you so fixated on only one?
