add "make ultra charge cell" mission to i-8

the teller ulam mine is cool but its not that useful. Ultra charges provide a slight advantage and enough of an incentive other then bragging rights to hold the station. the mission should also be done in batches of 10 or so and can only be taken every so often (once a day? once a week?)

the material list would look something like
10 heavy power cells
some power cores
some power couplings
some ores
and a plasma torch

also maybe manufactuing gauss3s would be cool too because you can't buy them in grey space.

A manufacturing mission for Ultra Cells would be great. The materials list should probably be a good deal longer than that, though, given the precedent set by other manufacturing missions.

I'd rather an Ultra Charge built from a Hive Fast Charge plus some assortment of other stuff.

It would be great to have this, though.

Hm, yes, that's a good idea.

i just chose a heavy cell seeing as it had the most charge thinking it would be the easiest to convert from an rp standpoint even though a UC has the same amount as a medium cell. It doesn't really matter to me what cell is required I just think it would be a nice mission and would add enough of a bennefit to owning the station with out making whoever owned it have to great of an advantage

The advantage of requiring hive cells is that you can't just go out and buy them.

HFCs are very close to UCs statwise plus it makes more RP sense for the bot drop quota be filled with a HFC. I started to compose an alternative material list but then I realized the Incarnate probably isn't going to be receptive to this at all so I stopped.

Still like the idea, though.

If I remember correctly we had this thread from awhile back where we all wanted UC cells to be bumped down to like 25 or 30 mentor points instead of 40... whatever happened to that idea?

But back on topic, I'm for more crafting missions. Can the PCC create missions for i-8?

That would help, partially.

The problem is that a) mentor points are almost impossible to get without resorting to cheating, due to various flaws in the mentor system, and b) it used to be a lot easier to cheat, so there are a ton of people who have been around for a very long time and have 40+ mentor points, but for newer players it is impossible. This is unfair.

Any fix is going to screw somebody. The real thing is to screw fewer people. But your point is well taken.

I'm really not sure how you come to that conclusion. I wouldn't consider "removing an advantage from people who exploited a broken mechanic to gain it" to be "screwing" anyone.

What about those of us who have a large number of mentor points gained without cheating? Not everyone cheated.

First of all, I don't even believe that.

Secondly, even if there are people who legitimately mentored 40 distinct noobs on paid accounts, what are you complaining about? Was all of that time spent helping people wasted if you don't get a physical gameplay advantage from it? Anyone who actually thinks that way doesn't deserve a mentor badge anyway.
