Warthog Mineral Extractor
I was thinking that since the Greyhound got a built in cargo scanner, why shouldn't the Warthog Mineral Extractor get a Mineral scanner? It won't break the ship, and it might justify why its costs are quite a bit higher than the Warthog mkIV.
This is a pretty good idea, actually.

Thinking into the future a bit, the Warthog Territorial Defender should have a built-in addon scanner too.
What about the Tung mineral marauder?
What about it? The Tunguska mineral marauder doesn't need anything new.

I agree with the OP. I also agree with tarenty. It seems reasonable that if pirate ships have built in scanners that mining ships would have built in mineral scanners.
I don't have an issue with it so long as an Adv Scanner can be equipped to replace the built-in regular scanner.
Rather than that Meridian, why not a WME MKII with an advanced scanner... same requirements on the ship as the Advanced Mineral Scanner, in addition to a higher level or two.
Yeah, I agree. It should have an scanner similar to the advanced one. Would justify the high cost. Even a normal mineral scanner added to it doesn't explain the expense. But

Aye, and I like the idea of giving WTDs integrated addon scanners. That's good.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, Ryan. Only one pirate ship -- and a 100,000 credit one at that -- has a cargo scanner. Every fucking mining ship under the sun doesn't need a mineral scanner too, just because of that.

A compelling argument Doc. Though it would still be cool.
*bump* for friday
Humm. Noted. Will consider. This is entirely dependent on how much internal-scanner stuff Ray implemented in the last update we did to the object system, a couple of weeks ago. We shall see.
