Conquerable station locations

As per Inc's request, here is a thread to discuss possible locations for conquerable stations in greyspace.

I suggest that the planet Chaak in Latos should get one, as well as one in Sedina A-10 and one somewhere in Bractus.

I also suggest that a conquerable station should not be placed in Odia, at least for now, as Odia is technically a Capitol system and under the control of Corvus.

Incarnate's ideas of obscuring the stations in a dense fog, with docking bay markers visible only to those who have the "key" to the station, are great ones. It would be cool to get huge, superdense asteroid fields in the sectors as well, to make the stations even harder to find. Think one of the new Deneb sectors with a station hidden somewhere inside.

well those roid fields kill me loading time but otherwise +1 to this idea even with out fog having stations to fight over would be aweome

Well we wouldn't be able to put the fog in planet sectors, I think. We could have some with fog and some without.

"Clear" stations:
-Latos J-13
-Edras J-15

Fogged stations:
Pelatus F-8
Ukari D-6

Some hidden stuff orbiting the two "Vakari" (B-12, B-13) sectors in Ukari might be interesting as well.

Edit: Oh, and Latos M-7 should be the first testing ground. That place is already set up for a hidden station lol.

my pc can't really handle the foggy sectors from deneb, so one in open space in deneb would be cool too.

This might go a bit beyond what's planned.. but I've had an idea like this for a while..

A sort of storm fortress. A station in the corner of a system surrounded by permament storm sectors. The station sector itself would just have a storm colored fog. The storms would be speckled with turrets (or evil kill bots) that have the same alignment as the station. Depending on how sector control is implemented, this could make taking that station over a bit more interesting and make it more valuable.

I'd put it in a corner to limit the number of entry directions and the number of sectors this system takes up.

I don't have much of a preference where to put it. Pelatus might fit, because there is already a station called "Pelatus Bunker", so another one called "Storm Fortress" would kind of go with the theme.

We obviously need the Sector 10 station too!

So would you find the hidden stations by following NPC convoys? Probably wouldn't want to have escort missions that go to conquerable stations be available without owning a key since you wouldn't be able to dock without one anyway.

And owning a key would also make the station appear on the nav map?

I was originally persuaded that Pelatus should remain as empty as it already is, because it's refreshing to have a system that is actually different from the others, even if it's only because there is nothing in it. However, Pelatus would be a great place for player-controllable stations (and other player-controlled content in the future) precisely because it is so empty of NPC faction control.

It might even be worthwhile to move the Ineubis station there into Edras and replace it with a player-controlled one.

EDIT (response to meridian's post while I was typing): It sounds like the location of the first few stations will be publicly available, but I don't think they should show up on nav maps even if you have the key.

/me votes for stations in Pelatus and Bractus

Put the station anywhere in grey and name it "Impavid".

For me, Edras B2, Ukari E13 and Helios M7.

RP: Natural expansion due proximity to consuming markets.

R: Keeps empty gray empty, and those are the unexplored natural choke points.

Nationalists heed my call. Give us one station in Deneb!

Its been so long since the Itani Serco conflict has been given any breath of life. Perhaps putting a station up for grabs in Deneb would give us something to fight over?

It would also make the Serco's stop complaining that we have to go through a worm-hole for our BS missions.

+1 for Deneb H2

this is needed.

Like, 5 weeks?

Your absurd claims aside, I support a conquerable station or 10 in Deneb. Maybe then Itani and Serco military forces will get the hell out of South Grey and go back where they belong.

Deneb needs a permanant Serco station...or the removal of the Itani one to balance to sector out. Then add 1 or two conquerable stations.

Latos O-12 for traders/PVP
Sedina O-6 for the rats/PVP

PaKettle: Your lack of knowledge is impressive.

There are several Itani stations in Deneb, not just one.

Deneb is Itani space.

And what the hell does
Latos O-12 for traders/PVP
Sedina O-6 for the rats/PVP

even mean?

No conquerable stations in WH sectors. Thanks for playing.

Deneb is a disputed sector and contrary to the Itani's claim they do not own it ....

Equally impressive Ladron is your ability to troll over petty stuff....Take your personal attacks elsewhere

I dont recall any restrictions on where a station can be. We have plenty of stations at wormholes already. Having a conquerable one(s) in a location that will actually affect game play and be worth a fight is exactly what VO needs.

No need to thank me... I play just for the fun of it.

Hey I think we should have a nice, conquerable station(s) in Edras, in Odia and in Ukari.

This spaces them out. There should be a bonus for every hour that your faction/guild/whatever controls all three stations, kinda like in FPS shooters that have "capture and hold" territory subgames.

No, there really shouldn't be. We don't have a large enough playerbase to justify that, and we certainly shouldn't be rewarding people who log in in the middle of the night when no one else is around to take territory and then disappear.

Replace "hours" with "days" or "weeks" and that might be a good idea.
