Disable backward thrust on capital ships.
I know, I know, I just made like two other suggestion topics but this is really starting to annoy me. Two HACs engage each other nose-to-nose and it's always the case that one of them punches it full forward and the other one (usually Itani) lead-foots it in reverse. A friend of mine came back to Vendetta this week for the long-lost vets deal and we did a Large BS mission, but it was ruined because the HACs decided to have a go at each other and were nose-to-nose going 100,000m (literally) away from the center of the sector at a speed of 50m/s with the reinforcement count on both sides still at a solid 1500. The suggestion makes sense, anyways... when would a cap ship ever need to go in reverse other than when it's just annoying the crap out of you? Any objections?
Seconded. I don't bother with the Deneb stuff enough to know much about it, largely because it's so terribly executed. But this is far and away the worst problem. Often the target of the fucking mission is outside the Goddamn clipping plane, and the only way to find it, much less bomb it, is to follow the bots with the magic radar.
Not. Worth. Player. Time.

Agreed, or at the very least... make the cappies stay with the main battle fleet.
Fourthed, lols, this is so very annoying when I'm in BS, and is the main reason why I don't stick around in Deneb.
Please fix.

Do not cripple the ships, improve battle group tactics.
Do not use engine kludges to fix gameplay problems.
So, I disagree with disabling reverse thrust. Maneuverability is important, especially if it takes minutes to turn a ship, not seconds.

They currently are not PC ships, so nerfing them for gameplay reasons is NBFD.
Aye, as of right now cap ship npcs are retarded. There aren't any maneuverability tactics to ruin and I imagine this would be easier to implement than an entire cap ship AI redux (although that should be the goal in the long run).
Personally I'm in favor of just fixing the damn AI. If the HAC's can't backroll out of the sector, their current AI will find some other stupid way to ruin the battle. Make them attack sideways, and make them attempt to move to and hold the center of the sector.
