Add a "0" to the CtC rewards...

Dec 20, 2009 ShankTank link
I took a little license with the topic title, it doesn't necessarily need to be multiplied by as much as 10... but I'd like to see perhaps CtC rewards (both credits and standing) be multiplied by at least five. After all, if someone could dock anywhere with pure xith they could sell it for at least 10,000cr/cu. Any objections?

None. And do the same with the border skirmishes.

Good point, them too. They're way harder than BPs but people ignore them because they just don't pay very well at all.

Yes, do. And perhaps Hive Skirmishes could see a twofold increase?

Hmmm, I don't think so. HS is pretty good as it is.

HS is fine. Do the CtC Rewards.

I want to be able to sell this pure xith crap at stations. They claim to want it, but of course I cannot dock with it.

Being able to dock and sell pure xith at Corvus stations would be an interesting evolution for CTC, one which makes perfect sense given the popularity of grey. As well, it would be interesting to see some sort of bastardized CTC weapon for Corvus stations should they "win" CTC.

That said, I would think it would be best for something like the above to wait for the faction redux. As it stands right now it would most likely be a detriment to CTC as it would add nothing to the Serco/Itani sides of the conflict, and merely give certain players (Itani player, POS across the board for instance) a cheap and easy method of unloading and profiting from CTC, instead of helping their "nation's" side.

Yeah, it will definitely have to wait for a pirate/Syndicate faction players can join after rebelling from their own nation for something like that to be implemented. Otherwise, all the players would just give all their cargo to Corvus because it might be deemed a "neutral" act because everyone since most people spend all of their time in grey this would be the preferred CtC winner by everyone.

Another downside is that a grey station someone can dock with would be in-between both convoy routes and would therefore make CtC a lot easier for grey. That would be balanced by the possibility that Corvus would have no automated convoy... but the point is that if a player ran into pure xith they would much rather take it to that location than to go to the other side of the grey border.

However, on the upside of your idea, it is an all-too-common occurrence that a pirate would blow up a what would appear to be an ignorant trader and find, instead, some heavy crap you can't dock anywhere with. It would be nice to have Odia, in the short run, to have some Corvus station that would accept it for half the credit reward (after the reward increase), no reputation reward, and no CtC team gain. It would add more advantage for pirate universal KoS and also add more purpose and realism to guarding your own nation's cargo. Pirates should be a danger to all commerce, even nation-sanctioned business.

Oh yeah, and the N3 needs either a different stat direction or a buff, there should be a storage limit for N3s to prevent stockpiling, and guarding a convoy should also give a reward. But that's all for the future, this suggestion is low-hanging fruit, just changing a few numbers.

And get rid of the faction loss when killed in grey, please. The sole fact it is a small loss only does not make it more logical.

As for the faction loss, I'd say increase it for the transports but get rid of it for the escorts.
Dec 21, 2009 Inco link
Many people think we should get rid of it completely.

1) Stop breaking the "What happens in grey, stays in grey." doctrine.

2) It surely will get more players into CtC. As I believe, this is what we want.
Dec 21, 2009 ShankTank link
Yeah, but we also don't want Serco nationalists with Itani PoS or the other way around.
Dec 21, 2009 Inco link
Er, and you want to fix it through CtC?

It is like banning all weapons because you do not want murders.
Your idea might be good but your solution and its consequences are not.

"No action in grey should be penalized in any way" is all I can say. I am quitting arguing with you.

Hmmm, sorry if I made my point sound a little too hostile in any way and I withdraw it. However, the core of this suggestion is reasonable, so far not objected to, and is really easy to implement. Increase the rewards for CtC captures and border skirmishes.
