This is an old suggestion but it seems like ripe, sweet, and low hanging fruit... Guild commanders should be able to demote lieutenants.
Makes sense
Aye.
I'm not disagreeing with the suggestion and certainly think the population base is too small for my comment to matter since it would likely require significant work on the part of the devs, but....
Why not allow guild founders to set the governing rules at time of creation. Such as totalitarian or democratic or a blend of the extremes.

All pilots are equal, but some are more equal than others.
agreed.
Guilds should be able to appoint more than 2 lieutenants.

No, that's dumb. If your 2 Lt's aren't active enough to perform their duties, they need to be replaced.

Let's create a new, lower level of member so Denji can demote me to it in [PA]. Something like "Pleeb". Or maybe "Greenhorn."
How about Chopped Meat?
/me beats with a frying pan everyone who dare speak off topic on this most hallow and august suggestion.
There are many reasons to have more than two lieutenants.
1. Players in different time zones.
2. Players with schedules that limit them to certain days of play.
3. Election are infrequent. A current lieutenant may loose interest well before the end of the current term.
Guilds are part of the lifeblood of VO. Lieutenants are the key to guilds. For casual guilds, more lieutenants are better.

/me tries beating missioncreek2 with a rusty axe. i'm suggesting a simple non-controversial change. begone with your conniving offtopicness!
I sincerely endorse this event or feature request.

On one hand they are lieutenants - if you dont completely trust them then dont promote them...
Then again a commander should be able to give the boot to anyone...

Biggest issue is when lieutenants do not resign before they stop playing.

This actually happened to me. Shortly after I became a Lieutenant of ONE, my subscription ran out, and it was months before I could resub. (In fact, it took me exactly as long to resub as it took them to boot me for inactivity. It was hilarious.)

all ye have to do is to post changes to be made to yer guild in whistler thread, ye promote demote anyone ye want as a commander.
Ye can even change the commander if sufficient number of councillors post on that thread.
So i don't see the point : )
anyway bleed well : )

Because you shouldn't need to ask for guide intervention. Guilds should be able to administer themselves. :P
next time ye would want to fly yer ship yerself...
