Lone Hive Sectors
I remember, back about a year from now. I used to be able to fight TyCorp Assaults (in sectors such as Betheshee A-12 and B-13) and have fun (yeah I know sad, but anyway). This was because:
1: they never gave up (e.g. instantly attacked when i was in sector),
2: always attacked in pairs of two,
3: and very rarely would I have to chase one down that is just boosting around
This has all changed. I now have to wait almost 30 seconds for them to even realize my presence, and for ONE to chase me and attack. They don't fight in pairs anymore. And sometimes they attack, and then try to boost off.
This is very depressing, as I used to enjoy killing the Hive.
Not only does this make it tedious to attack the Assault bots, but it also makes using missions like Advanced Combat Practice very inefficient.
As if it wasn't nerfed enough.
Please change it back to being good again. Because this is but one of the things that drive me away form this game. Combatants need to have a break and fight bots for a bit. Without being bored like they were watching paint dry.
Thankyou, Est.

Also, please bring back crack-botting. Uber fun, only a minor exploit, you do the math.
Actually, now that I think of it, the ty's back when I was leveling in GR did seem a bit more aggressive than the ones I see now......
in 04 the artemis collectors used to move quickly and fire rapid weapons.
The A47s also used to die in faster succession. Poor noobs.
This hasn't been my experience, I'm regularly taking on.. well, being assaulted by pairs. It's been a great learning curve for developing strafe rolls etc. if a little hectic for a new player.
However I agree on the Artemis, they're walk overs. I soon gravitated to blasting them over Denteks to gain points in early licence levels.
In some sectors by confirmed example of the original poster, ApuTech5's do need to be run down and fired upon before they engage. Which is rough, because in closing range, you put the engagement in their favour temporarily. Having them ignore you tends to blow the immersion a bit.
I am curious though.. is there a connection between Licence level and Bot aggression?

Tael, this has nothing to do with ApuTech5's because they protect Siepos Transports, and the like. They only attack you back because they were guarding the Transport.
I'm talking about the Lone sectors in which Assault bots are.
They never have attacked in a pack of 2.
They take forever for one to even realize you're there.

You might want to wand over a few sectors on the maps Kierky, there's plenty of sectors with Aputech5 all on their own, just like the Assaults. They behave the same way too, read below :)
I had charged off into a few zones last night and tonight, and realised I made a mistake. It is in the Hive Skirmishes that I get tag-teamed by Assaults et al, and not in 'Single Type' sectors by any Bot. So I agree, on revision, you are quite correct as to their 'laziness' normally outside Skirmish. Actually mentioning another Hive Bot besides the Assaults, suggests this is endemic to Lone Hive sectors?
However I might playfully debate just how ineffecient it all is. With experience of my first Alt. I levelled a new alt to 4/5/4/ (Cmbt/Sml/Lrg) in three nights game play mixing Adv. Combat and the Hive Bot investigation missions (bonus points etc) as I was aiming to fly a Raptor quickly. If it was better before, this kind of thing must have been much faster previously. A situation I certainly would invite back. :)
best,
Taele.

Kierky is right.. Yesterday i had big license run (i wanted Prom SkyCommand). In the morning i had 9 ( about 55%) combat and 8 (70-80%) heavy. I made them 10 and 10 in 6-7 hours by spamming Valent and TyCorp assault drones in GR piloting hog MK2, while doing mission "advanced targettng training". I can say it was awfully boring 6 hours, because they attack only one mob at once and every time the same..... same mob - same tactic.. next..
I just finished hundreds of 'em without thinking. When i was completely bored, i went to sector, where was Orne Guardian, Prosus Assault, Orion Transport and Valent with TyCorp. Orne Guardian was in group with Transport and 2 Prosus.. When i attacked them they didn't fight back... So i had only TyCorp or Valent sitting on my ass and destroyed 7-8 such groups. IMHO this little voy should at least fight back )) And drones should attack minimum 2-3 at a time, better every assault drone that spots you. It would be more difficult, interesting, extreme.. and it will stop such noobs as I from spamming drones. Because now i pilot SkyCommand Prometheus not being good myself even 1% as this ship is..
