Bookmarking Locations/Intra-Sector Jumping

I recalled being able to do this in Eve while I was responding to the 'Planets' thread here. You could save a location in space, and then jump to it if you were within the same sector.

So currently you can jump from system -> system (e.g. Dau -> Azek). Or sector -> sector (e.g B8 -> G12). But for all intents and purposes the sectors are quite small, with any asteroid belts being close to the centre, no OTHER celestial objects anywhere else, and the jump points pretty close to one another.

This proposal would add the ability to jump from your current position within a sector -> a bookmarked point in the same sector.

It could have a lot of potential positive/negative effects on the game, but I think it's worth looking at...

You would potentially have to limit the distance at which jumps could be made (min or max limits). There might also have to be a way of tracking where they had jumped to to make it harder for people to use it to istantly escape pursuers. Maybe a dep-space radar, combined with a 'jump to target' function.

Ah yes, that's another thing that the inclusion of this would probably require. The ability to 'jump to target' within a sector. So you can be 200,000m from a station and warp to within 5000m.

intra-sector jumping is already planned. See some of Inc's RFC threads.
