Not my idea, from player "the ghost"

I also added in that perhaps you should only be able to get so many valks within a time period because they can't manufacture them fast enough or something.

The Neutral Territories are supposed to be the traders. The Itani are not. That's why they don't get a trade ship. They are not traders. They are fighters.
Maybe they can get a new fighter that's not as uber.
Sage: well - if you read the background story, you're wrong - the Itani are supposed to be peaceful people, haunted by the past (IIRC). The Serco are meant to be the fierce fighters in the game.
In this context, the valk is horribly misplaced - Itani should have a powerful defenseship, not the most powerful fighter in the game.

I think you mean valk and the prom.
I thought about the story and based on that the Itani should probably get some sort of science vessel or something. I really cannot think of what they could possibly get for their story backgroud. The Serco are the feared pirates, so it would make sense for them to get the Valkyrie, but the Valk never struck me as much of a Piracy ship. Maybe back when it had 6 cargo, but not anymore. The Valkyrie is just a lost ship of Vendetta. Storywise it doesn't belong anywhere really. The prometheus fits the Serco story pretty well. Good for pirating, not very pretty (very utilitarian). It reflects their ethos and design asthetic. The Valk reflects the Itani design asthetic, but I don't see it as suiting the Itani personality very well. It would be nice to have the valk universally available, but the ship is still a bit overpowered. Most blues don't use the Valk anyway.

The Itani are a exploring race. They need something that is quick and agile, but doesn't have a large weapon base. Something more along the lines of a cent. But maybe a bit more agile. Super high menouvering but only 1 small port.
what we need is a long range ship that can go to point a to b very quickly, thn ships like the valk that can explore the finer parts of a sector.
im "the ghost". people complained about the blue having power so i just thought of this as a way to give everyone the power, not just blues. i thought that by doing this people would be happy and if a noob started gloating in a valk you would know that they went through s17 to get to it. that gotta count for something. people complained about noobs gloating cause they were in a valk, so that was my solution
just switch the agility from the vult with the agility of the valk, and it will be allright ;)

people keep saying that the vult would be too agile then, they still want to bump it down a bit.
Yea, the centaur was supposed to be insanely maneuverable, but they had some sort of problem programming the mass with the game engine. Apparently very low masses spin wildly out of control with the slightest touch and very high masses (like the frigate) just slowly spin around and around.
But yes, an Itani Science vessel would be awesome, but there just isn't room for an explorer ship at the moment. Maybe when more and more hidden sectors are added.

vulture and valks are just the best fighters out there. centurion and hornet can't join in even if they wanted.
If anything, switch the agility of the Valk with the agility of the Centurion. The Centurion needs the extra agility anyway. The four tests done on ship agility agree that the Cent is actually less agile than the Vult!

I'm pretty sure that the current acceleration and turning rates aren't what the devs intended them to be. If I'm right then they will make the apropriate changes when they have time. (At the moment the backend programming is far more time consuming, and important than balance issues)
ow ow gizmos :D, please can we have gizmos on a science vessel, me imagines it being able to blow up all the rockets fired at a certain radius :D. Or interfering with the radar and so on ...
But if they did limit the valk to 18, then I would suggest to not being able to set home. Will make it a lot more difficult and at the same time, it will stop the home in 18, trade to 14, grab bus, do /explode start traderun in 18 again :D

1st off, Sage i think they were talking about the centurion. ya know the think almost nobody uses?
2nd off, if im not mistaken the centurions agility is as high as it can be, if im correct in what the devs said, the size of the centurion compared to its possible agility level is at its max. i believe they had to make the ship bigger to make it more agile but i could be wrong.
3rd off, if the itani got a new ship and the valk was in s18 only would you care if the valk was limited (SL?). it wouldnt be a nation speacial so would it cause the nation speacial ships to be limited or not?
