Guild Hierarchy
Could we possibly get a "Recruit" status of being in a guild?
This would allow you to:
1: Deposit into the guild bank.
2: Not wear the tag, but on the website, be on the member list as "Recruit".
3: See guild chat (but not locations).
4: See the online list of guild members in the Comm tab, and the MOTD. (not the bank balance, permissions, withdrawal limits etc.)
thoughts?

Do it.
Also, this way, the recruits actions, do not necessarily represent the guild as a whole.
just be careful as to who you invite
yeah, i like this idea too. do it.
Sounds groovy, go for it.
Perhaps we can also add the ability for the Commander to add new levels to the guilds, and to rename existing ones.
First thing: Absolutely fantastic idea, doesn't seem like it would take an incredible amount of effort to implement (don't smite me if I'm wrong, though, devs).
Second: Chaosis, that is a brilliant elaboration on the first step, perhaps it could be similar to the system where you can set the powers of different member classes to see the bank and logs (as we have now) but you can alter more options and add classes. THAT might be a bit more (or not, for all I know) so I think that the suggestion should primarily be the original thought and then in addition the possibility of the second.
And good idea, Kierky

Thanks for linking me, Strat, but I'm trying to suggest 1 thing, not 50!
I didn't want to start a new thread for this (but will if I must) so I'm adding it to this thread because it is close enough.
Guilds, in general, seem to only be a permanent group with a tag. That's pretty much the only difference, though that's not true socially, of course.
So what if it meant more? What if the guild had a standing with a certain nation? What if your actions were larger than you?
Suppose your guild is some 'ITAN', and that you go attacking Sercos all the time (imaginary, hypothetical situation). Shouldn't your guild be ENTIRELY disallowed to dock at a Serco station? Suppose, now, that your guild (Let's call this hypothetical guild TGFT for the heck of it) is heavy on mining and usually trades with some faction in particular. Maybe you have discounts there, access to more missions, or just in general get better EVERYTHING there? Same could apply to pirates (Can't think of a good hypothetical guild for this one) and Corvus.
Then you can get even further into it, with guild-to-guild standings. Obviously, the above hypothetical ITAN and maybe some hypothetical serco guild (you could call it SCAR or ONE) would have poor standings with each other and etc, though that standing could be directly controlled by the Commander and Council.
This is where the above Recruit function above could come into place, but instead make it a probationary function. If someone does something bad that does not represent the guild, make them a probationary member and have them compensate with the party that standing has been lowered with.
Personally, imo, I'd rather see this than the upcoming Universal Redux. The reason for that is that as it stands and even with the upcoming Universal Redux (I assume), a player is not going to affect anything more than himself. With this kind of system in play, you do mean more than yourself, your impact on everyone else is suddenly much bigger; guilds suddenly will have much more meaning than just a 'tag'.
Yeah, maybe I should put this in a new thread, but I'll wait for someone else to tell me that.

Death Jr... I'm not 100% sure what you are suggesting here, and yes, it should be it's own thread.

Suggesting that an entire guild has certain standings with different factions. Sorry that that wasn't clear.
