Audio Controls Upgrade

We already have some nice controls for specifying the audio input/output channels when using Voice Chat.

It would be nice if the same output channel controls were also available for normal game audio in addition to the music and sound fx volume controls.

That way I can specify my headset for use in-game instead of my speakers without having to change my system's audio prefs prior to running the VO client.

And while you devs may really like OGG format for integrating music into VO because the license is cheaper, in my experience it is an archaic and virtually unused format. My music in iTunes is compressed using MP3, AAC, and Apple Lossless formats and I have no desire to convert some subset of my huge (8000+ songs) music library to OGG format simply to play them in VO. I mean, disk space is still a finite qty even in these days of terabyte drives.

Is there a way to put iTunes interface controls into VO so that, instead of the VO client playing the music, the VO client tells iTunes to play, stop, go back/forward one song, what playlist to use, etc. That way, if anyone has iTunes installed on their system, whether MacOS or Windoze, they could handle their music using that software and there would be no MP3 licensing issue for you since iTunes is playing the music, not VO.

Maybe you could license the technology for youcontrol:iTunes from yousoftware.com to avoid reinventing the wheel. It's a freeware product for MacOS that does precisely what I just described.

Thanks

Sounds like a good idea to me, for the Mac users but Voice Chat in game just does not work like it should. I have a USB Headset and a Desktop Mic and neither will allow me to actually talk in Voice Chat. I can hear it great on speakers or headset, but can not get the Audio part working right. Maybe you could visit SourceForge.net and find a Freeware Voice Chat program that could work for everyone.
