Availability Of Items In Stations That Dont Sell Them
Just a quick thought, if someone sells a ship, weapon, or widget to a station that normally does not carry it, perhaps make that item available to buy but only so many times as they have been sold there. In example, someone sells two Valks to a serco station, so the next person who comes along to that station, can, if they wish, purchase up to two valks, and once both are gone its no longer available.
Thats a lot of words to get that point across, but its early, and im not wearing any pants, so there.

So wait, did you sell your pants?... Was it a pants-pirate?
So long as the buy list clearly denotes that the stock is finite, I'd be all for this.
Aye , this would be fun. Have buy , sell and " slightly used " tabs under commerce.
Sounds like a good idea. Any dev input?
Even the "used" tab wouldn't be necessary. Just buy/sell. As for the amount for other items, it could just be the "infinity" symbol.
But major thumbs up for this idea.

do people sell valks, or just get them asploded?!

This should extend to all commodities and port items as well. Being able to buy 50,000 cube of any item in one hit at a fixed price is just plain silly. Hopefully this is something that we'll see in the finished economy which is due out soonish :P
Edit: With regard to selling ships, I would like to see a consignee system implemented which would allow players to place ships or items for sale at a price of their choosing- with a slight percentage of that going to the station as cost of doing business. So for example, I could take the time to haul 20 X1's down to Sedina and post them for sale at say $200,000cr each. This would cover the cost of purchase, labor involved in moving the vehicle and give me a modest profit. Qualified players could put fully constructed superlights up for sale at say 2,000,000cr each. /me misses Scarshop

I really like this idea, approved!
Fluffy: Agrees with you on ship selling at the station AND allowing you to set a price that you want. That would work, and allow some friendly price wars between folks.
Tram: For sure. Once the item(s) are sold, they are gone.. period.
And for god sake man, put on some pants. ;)

Death Fluffy, and vskye, I will make that suggestion into a different thread, because this is availability of an item by selling it to a station, not directly to a player, as the original suggestion tends to be "stations with temporary stock of an item".
You are correct. I had not read Roda's Consignee thread before posting this. I will paste my comments there. :)
