Instead of Monthly Subscriptions use Time Subscriptions
First off. I love the game. The only problem is, I don't have a lot of time to play a game like this. However, when I have the time I like to play. And, for the amount of time I would be playing, $10 a month doesn't seem worth it. Possibly $5 but not $10.
So, maybe a new way of doing things. For the trial you have 8 hours of play time, right? Well, why not allow players to buy "Play Time" instead of a per month basis.
For example:
"60 Hours of Gameplay" (2 Hours a Day, 30 Days in that Month) $10.00.
Of course, you can adjust that however you like. I just feel that would be a better way to do it. At least for me. If that was implemented I would buy in a heartbeat.

I understand that the arrangement would work best for you - but it wouldn't help keep the lights on at Guild.
The current pricing model allows them a rough idea of how much money will be coming in so that the company can make some educated guesses about their resources for the near future. Under your plan, you might make your $10 stretch for months without any clear indication of when there might be another $10. A big company might be able to tolerate the risk, but I doubt Guild can. Maybe some day. On the other hand, it's not much money, and your character will probably still be waiting for you if you skip a month and resub later.
