The Shiva Option
I just finished a great SF book about intergalactic warfare. I was struck by the fact that book was based on a board game called Starfire. The author, David Weber, is a best seller. What great exposure that was for the Starfire game.
VO could benefit from the same exposure. I suggest that the Devs give talented SF authors lifetime VO accounts. Perhaps one will become captivated by the VO world and write a best seller set in it. A few possible authors:
David Weber
Steve White
John Ringo
Orson Scott Card
Ben Bova

/me recommends Whytee
I also read The Shiva Option. As a consequence, I personally would not want David Weber anywhere near a VO novel. The idea is a good one though.
I would add
Dan Abnett
C. J. Cherryh
S. Andrew Swan
William Gibson
to that list.

/me is flattered Fluffster. If I can find a publisher who will finance it, that would be cool. The devs seem to not mind me using their universe.
Getting published is actually quite easy so long as YOU are paying for it. Get a release from Guild before you publish based on VO however....
Does Whytee have an actual novel?
I wish missioncreek2. I have a novel but have been too busy to make something of it this summer. I am not a writer, I just like writing and as such it is a hobby to be indulged in when I find spare time;).
And yes PaKettle. Maybe I should just dole out the moneyz, I wonder if they will take UIT credits:) I have contacted Guild several times about publishing my stories but they have not answered. The stories that I wrote on the RP forum are collected and published on issuu.com already.
