And the scientific community of Vendetta is thrown into heated debate as a recent paper by Blaster offers further proof that although the Centurion has classicaly been defined as a "very high" agility fighter, it is in fact less agile than the "high" agility vulture. From the controversy is born the fledgling field of theoretical physics known as "The devs are lying to us! - ology" :P

(Hmm, that *was* a wierd post. Time for me to go to bed)

Will you ever actualy finish this?

sigh, all this is is acceleration data, also somewhat inaccurate i might add.. as the visual markers can be thrown off.. timed might be better, but still, you are going to have some inconsistancies. Also blaster keeps pointing to these as his proof that the prom is fairly agile.

/me goes off

fairly agile???!!!
its worse than a bus!!!

The bus actually isn't a bad little ship acceleration-wise.
More importantly, the Prom is only one notch less than the Hornet and it has a large port. So I'd say it is quite agile for a ship of its nature. Maybe give it a small port in addition, but any more will nerf it. Took the ship out for a spin today I might add and I've concluded that it is far from unusable. I killed several vultures and a couple of Valks too. (Granted the Valks were using Tachs and Geminis and the pilots were amateurs, even compared to me.) One more small port would make it perfect. Maybe and extra 1k hull. But it is still a very nice heavy ship, so stop whining.

I might... if I find some time... and I will, later.
of course the data will be a little bit "off", but no more than +/- 3m/s.
time would probably be harder IMO.

pavan, if you look closely then you see that the prom is 1 notch up from the wraith.

It has completely the same weaponslayout and more hull and cargoplace. So therefore im conclusing that a prom with a hullboost of 2k to get it a nice 20k will be more then adequate. Besides its big posterior makes it a big target, that is its negative side, and that is why I like it though.

I stated this hullboost to give it its special mark, because if you consider its competition, it really is a special.

PS: maybe give all the heavys an extra 2k hull ? They go down far to fast.

PPS: a prom is by no means more agile then an atlas. By no means at all. It comes fairly close to the hornet and is maybe even better then the hornet, I have to test that out for a while. Besides, an atlas can outdodge sector 17 bots without getting hit by circling around your ligtning mines, what a prom cant do in any case. I have to say, I tested that out with a medium engine.

cheers

dragos: actually the data is quite accurate. If you want further proof there have been two other studies done by myself and eldrad in which multiple time trails were executed and the mean and standard deviation were calculated.

Here is my experiment (also including turn rates):

Here is Eldrad's:

I think the difference you see is due to the Prom's large profile compared to the Atlas. Those Blue Ions wreak havoc on big ships. Agility-wise I'm sure the Prom is worse than the Hornet, but not by much. It's only real vulnerability is its enormous profile.
