Targeting a la X-wing/TIE fighter series
I am a big fan of the X-wing and TIE fighter series of games and one of the features that I thought was just really brilliant was the set of targeting options. I suggest incorporating versions of at least the following:
-- Target the Target's Target: thus you can select your wing leader, and then hit the key for this option and then you will have selected the craft that your win leader had targeted. This is also excellent inversely: the wing leader can issue orders to divide up the attack as he/she sees fit ("Betas! attack my target! <switch target> Now Gammas, attack this one!")
-- Mark/Recall Target: this is a common feature but I've probably used an uncommon descriptor. Select a target, say your wing leader, press CTRL-F5 and there after anytime you press F5 (and presuming the target is still alive and in range) that craft becomes your current target. This is great for marking a "list of targets" or merely getting back to your wing man or the craft you're escorting quickly to make sure you follow safely.

oooh, great ideas anagram! I can see how those would be particularly useful as the Vendetta universe grows and different squadrons/factions come into play.
I think it would also be great to have the ability to simultaneously designate multiple targets, by type, proximity, or both. This would be done by first selecting a target, then hitting the "target nearby objects of same type" key. The initial target would remain in the hud as the primary target, but other nearby targets of the same type would be hilighted. When firing a swarm each consecutive missile would go after a different target. (This would be great for de-mining).
Also it would be nice to have the hud display a little more information about the target other than bounty. Hull integrity, cargo, and Rate Of Closure for example.
