Lua multiple simultaneous object selection boxe
How about allowing, via lua, the ability to draw a selection box around multiple items simultaneously? I don't see why a radar system wouldn't already be capable of doing this. Some distinction would need to be made between an object that is selected, and one that is targeted.
It would improve object visibility for items deemed significant. The best example I can give for where this would be useful is in drazed's targetless plugin for 'pinned' targets.

Yes, I would also like the ability. Would be great to be able to highlight targets (by id) in the radar as well as in space :D
you actually dont need a box.... A simple short tag and pointer would do the trick nicely
I think if the devs intend to implement some kind of tactical display (I kind of think I can remember them to say something in that direction), they won't get around multiple object selection, I think, to allow for orders to be relayed to entire groups.
PaKettle: That's fine. I only suggested the 'box' because that code already exists.
toshiro: Forgive my ignorance, but how does any of that have to do with exposing a lua interface for drawing a selection box around objects in space?

Well...
I just meant to say that the developers probably already had this planned, but that I did not think the method was in existence yet, and that it might be best to just wait and see what the developers come up with, and then ask again.
