Behemoth Custom Strip Miner (CSR)
Ineubis Annouces a controversial new Behemoth called the Strip Miner.
Built on a standard Behemoth chassis It sacrifices cargo space for five large ports. Representatives from all three nations have called for a ban on strip mining citing environmental concerns and vow to outlaw this ship in their respective space.

Mass +++++
Armour ------
Unless you have some particular desire to make a massive torpedo/missile platform...

Agreed with rouglazer... sorta. The moth is too slow to be a platform like that. just nerf the torque and thrust a little and we're clear I think.
but... who is gonna mine 80cu in something that'll heat up the roid like no other? (note: I don't mine... so I may have no clue what I'm talking about in this regard)

No...
I think the point of this wouldn't be to mine for profit, but to mine for XP and/or denial of resources.
Thats why its refered to as strip mining...
It actually would be a very fast miner with 5 hd beams and the smaller hold should encourage more frequent (risky) trips
The specs could be nerfed a bit but the moth is too slow to be used as a battlewagon in any real capacity. The mass and armour are standard moth specs.
Queening maybe.....
And it would be limited to use in grey space. I just dont see anyway It could make it past the turrents.

This would probably be the only ship that might have a chance to solo a turret on a single run!
PaKettle/etc.: Speed and maneuverability wouldn't really matter once we have anti-capital ship weapons. Hence my suggestion to up the mass and down the armour...
this would also make a great trap ship for anti pirate guilds
I see a couple things that could prevent it from being used as a massive missile and/or torpedo platform:
- Reduce powergrid usage by (most) mining beams, and set a hard powergrid limit on this ship such that all it can fit is either all mining beams, or four mining beams and *maybe* one weapon.
- Increase large-port weapon powergrid usage, and (like above) set a hard powergrid limit for the ship so that it can't fit more than one or two large-port weapons.

Mmm, SPAM.
We do need a 3 L port ship...
would permanently equiping it with three hd beams work better?
Yep a 3 large port ship would be good

No, permanatly fixing 4 HD beams would work better. 5 seems too many, but that would be nice, too.
But I think they can't do that yet. Hence the reason the Greyhound doesn't have two mega posis welded into its ports.

Why KOS with all nations? Wouldn't they be the ones to have an actual strategic interest in denial of resources to others?
The KOS would prevent its usage outside of grey space....
So far as I am concerned fixing 5 hds would be just fine but others might like to have at least one port they can use...
Oh I see what your saying No the ship is not really meant for that nor is one needed. To burn a roid only takes an 89 and a cheap beam. Cheaper and very expendable....
