TPG Raptor Variant -- The Falcon

mynt there are other raptor suggestions out there that turn the raptor into more of a dog fighting type ship. If you don't approve of this idea I can think of two other proposals of the top of my head that you might want to check out. Other then that, this is an interesting idea however I don't think many people would really use it.

I don't seem to recall displaying displeasure at the concept. My attention to this particular variant is an indication that I believe at least part of the idea has merit. I merely don't see how using the Raptor model is going to work without drastically changing the established pattern that VO ships have ubiquitously followed. My attempts to rework this idea into something with more precedence is my way of trying to get this ship role into the game, already. How could you believe otherwise? Do you really think the Devs are concerned with how many "stamps of approval" you get? Don't try and convince me that you expected this suggestion to make it into production without as is; if you did not intend on receiving feedback, then you would not be posting in a public forum, now would you?

You could always MAKE ANOTHER THREAD. And propose your idea there instead of hijacking and being a newb.

The irony is, Mynt, that I have received legitimate, workable advice on how to improve the design from everyone else, but all you can mouth off about is how you'd rather this be a Valk or a Maud variant.

Yes, its a radical departure from the standard model; that is largely because the stock variants don't work. Do I expect this to make it in-game? Not particularly, no. But I do expect some serious consideration of the idea, and proper critiquing (read: as to the refinement of the design as-is).

So far, you've contributed a grand total of two things which remotely resemble sensible suggestions: making it infiniturbo, and removing the storm extender.

Making it infni is just asking for trouble. I'd be willing to accept a suggestion to nerf its speed or liner acceleration, perhaps, but as I made it abundantly clear, this isn't supposed to be a chase-ship, so infini is out. Hell, the short-range sprinting was really more of an afterthought to begin with.

And as for removing the storm extender, I have to question your logic as to why. Your stipulation was that it was 'rather pointless to have'. A logical argument to removing the thing would be if it were somehow unbalanced, but removing this feature--which the stock model has anyway--essentially for no reason makes no sense.

Now, everyone else has been providing good, sensible advice. Even zak.wilson, who openly admitted to me on IRC that he isn't fond of this thing, was at least kind enough to provide the math on calculating the effectiveness of spin torque, and peytros (peytros, for God's sake!) at least was honest enough to say that he probably wouldn't fly it and left it at that.

You, on the other hand, have been hijacking this thread and behaving as though your word is as law, without actually telling me anything I can actually use to balance the design. And you even go as far as to deny that you don't like the concept, which really burns me as far as your hypocrisy is concerned.

So its high-time I finally listen to everyone's advice and simply ignore you entirely. You've had your chance, Mynt, and you've wasted it with your enormous ego. I really don't care if you start excreting gold bricks, for all I care, as far as this thread is concerned, from this moment on, it will be as though you don't exist. You are poster non grata, and I'm going to be listening to people with actual, specific, sensible advice instead of wasting my time with you.

Don't bother trying to get my attention. It will avail you nothing.
