Ship storage limits on stations

Mar 14, 2009 Daare link
Much like the current storage fees for cargo, stations should charge pilots for long-term storage of extra ships with the fee going up *very* steeply for each additional ship. Or just put a cap on the number of ships a pilot can store at a station (in the 5-10 range).

I believe something like this is necessary if restrictions on the availability of certain ships is going to have any meaning at all. Otherwise, why bother when you can just stockpile ships at more convenient stations? This would also make player-owned stations more attractive assuming that they have no storage limits.

Flame away.

... I thought ships already counted as cargo against your storage limit?

they do. Just not very much roguelazer.

I completely agree Daare. As a matter of fact they could ensure that the storage space required per ship is vastly more than current. If a superlight has demands for two mothloads of cargo to make, surely it will in itself take up more space than just one crate? And that is probably the smallest ship we have... 15 XC's anyone? Should take up at least the cargo space they have PLUS some amount for the ship itself. I was kinda figuring that it was a matter of space, not a matter of weight/mass.

That aside, pls up the maximum amount we can have on stations..... 50k is too little for a dedicated miner
