Positron Blaster MkII
Positron Blaster MkII
Required Licenses: 5/5/1/-/-
Damage: 850
Velocity: 195m/s
Energy: 17/blast
Delay: 0.25s
Grid Usage: 6
Mass: 500kg
Volume (as cargo): 1cu
Upgraded HPK shielded blaster housing with a KD-4 positron core.
------------
Just adding content, because we have a neutrons variants going up to 3, but no levels of posi! (excl. megaposi).
Improvements and Feedback Welcomed.

The slick thing about the positron blaster is how much damage it can deal in an instant; while the neutron blasters easily out perform them in long streams of steady fire, rarely in a dog fight are you allowed this opportunity; often the quick spurts add up quickly.
Perhaps for this reason, the Positron Mk II should capitalize on the idea of offering relatively high damage per shot, if not over time, coupled with above average velocity.

oh you mean something like a gauss cannon? im sorry but the power that positrons have is that they are faster then neuts which makes them good against the ever increasing number of people who backup for a whole fight losing that much speed isn't worth it for 50 more damage and having the same size energy bolt as a neutron just less frequently
I think I see what you intended Kierky, a better, regularly available Positron blaster, attainable with no other exertion than leveling, which is to fill the gap between the Mk1 and the AAP, with a comparatively low EPS count.
I second this suggestion, but I suggest that you add an 'autoaim' trait and set it to 'Good'.
Addendum (for the lazy):
DPE: 50
DPS: 3400
EPS: 68
@peytros:
The Gauss is slow, high damage per shot, low DPE, DPS, high EPS. The positron and the Gauss complement each other (at least in my opinion), and this variant would not break that pattern.

i see what you are trying to get at but if you really want to make it stand out drop it down to 800 damage like all the other positrons and make its velocity 200 to 205.
I wouldn't use it. I use posi due to its extreme velocity, which is vital to fighting flare-jocks (need to be able to pick them off at distance). Then again, I don't see this variant severely unbalancing the universe, so I can't say its a bad idea. Then again, I have no idea what it would be used for. This does seem like something of a lighter gauss (since it has the same speed, less damage, lower surface area, and half the weight).
I would prefer Posis if they didn't suck for the simple reason that they are blue. But alas, I'm not into grinding faction, or spending hours farming the amount of queens it would take to satisfy my prodigious rate of dying, and the only large port utilizing ships I like to fly have such pitiful turning that to be competitive necessitates a weapon with a quicker reaction speed.
