request to remove monitoring in 4 sectors of each system
Recently we wanted to hold various activities inside nation space for the newbies but were unable to due to the faction-loss problems they would cause such as bus wars and demolition derbies.
I would like to request that all monitoring be removed from sectors a-1,a-16,p-1 and p16 which are the four corner sectors. To my knowledge these sectors are not used by any wormholes or stations in any system. Having four areas would help insure that storms and queens would not block activities and allow more then one activity to occur. This would also allow more local PvP to take place as well. I believe it was suggested that a set of tubes to practice racing be placed in each system and this would be a good area for this as well. Since this will be a consistant feature in all systems It will be easy for all players to learn of there existance and usages.
The downside is it would allow some pirating to take place inside all sectors and allow a safe haven for other criminal activities. I feel that this is acceptable as these sectors are largely unused by most players.
The existance of these sectors can be explained as simply being out of range of the monitoring systems....

will the sf follow you if you enter unmonitored space?
As it would basicly become grey space you could lose them by jumping from corner to corner most likely so I would say no.
Kind of an interesting idea. I definitely can't do this in capitol systems, as I don't want any safe-haven areas in there. But.. it's not an impossibility for outlying nation systems. More feedback welcome.
Empty sectors are already unmonitored, the SF only follows if you jump too slow, you can lose them with a FC easily.
Yeah, there already are unmonitored sectors, ... plenty of them.
Maybe there should be a race track sector in each...but I don't know if it has to be restricted to a corner. It might make sense to place one nearish to the wormhole, so it's 'on the way'. As if they were trying to attract racers.
For the unmonitored sector...It'd make more sense if there was a randomized location (like, 3 sectors) that weren't patrolled/were functionally unmonitored.

I wouldn't mind a couple of new tracks. I just can't beat my old times. :(
it says unmonitored but is faction loss turned off as well as this is the problem?....
You do not lose standing in unmonitored sectors. Basically, what happens in unmonitored sectors.. stays in unmonitored sectors (heh).
The strike force of faction X will only follow an already hated (not temp KOS) individual to the extents of faction X's space, it does not matter whether the sector is unmonitored or not.
