Capital Ship Repairs/Refils

Dec 12, 2008 Mogon link
Hey all, I tried to search but found nothing pretaining to players in cap ships so...

I was thinking, I heard incarnate talking about trying to fit the front part of a ship into the station and docking that way, I have an idea about repairing and refilling cap ships.

I was thinking that the Capital Ship will not have to dock at all with a station, instead it can assign engineering crews to repair it slowly, or buy nanites to repair quickly.

And so the cap ship doesnt have to dock with the station, it might be able to call in a transport shuttle with supplies that it orders via a comm window with a nearby station.

These are just some of my ideas about how to handle maintanance of a cap ship when players get them.

Not a bad idea. Sorta like the sailing vessels of the past. Sending out a dingy. One of the things I remember is that a cap ship is basically a floating station. That can die. So, the idea is self-sufficiency. I do like keeping it a ship though.

Which would entitle allowing them to dock at normal stations, or having specific "shipyard" stations, created for building and fixing cap ships. Might be neat.

Ya, kinda like that, I had the idea of letting the cappies go broadside to a station and activating a docking port or something...but that would only limit them to one or two cappies/station...but then again, its just an idea.

Yikes! How many capital ship are you expecting to be in one sector? Twelve? I sure hope not, that'd make me feel like a noob again. Which is probably a good thing...
