Simple and logical way to drop standings

Well now to drop standing from your own faction is painfull process that looks more like exploit than actualy feature (get convoy, drop it, shoot someoen from convoy in nfz and so on) so i suggest to add simple button:
"Declare war on factions" which will automaticaly set you to KOS. To prevent abuse, it would be clickable only while docked.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of abuse do you think only allowing this while docked will prevent?

Come on, you need people to imagine things for you now?

Step 1: Make a new character

Step 2: Wait for someone else to make a new character and undock

Step 3: Mosey up to that person all peaceful-like and such

Step 4: "Declare war" on your own faction

Step 5: Own that newb's sorry ass

Step 6: Repeat.

it should come with a big fat ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS dialogue as well

Genka got it, also yea, big sign "are you sure" will be more than needed.
Nov 16, 2008 KoooZ link
you could still sit there docked and wait for the noob to undock, then declare war and waste him. Might not be able to close distance as much as undocked, but after all, he is a noob.

If you are in your own factions station when you declare war on it, you should be transported to corvus (same as if you die when you are homed at a station you are kos with)

But seriously, if you can't kill a couple sf or three, or hunt down a trader or two, I am not sure you should be allowed to have the kos.

I vote no.

^^^ what he said

Who told that i can't ? I think you miss the point here which is that now dropping standings looks more like an exploit than feature. And this is pointless, why complicate this ? I don't like this nation - FUCK EM, I DECLARE WAR!
Seems logical for me.
Or there is some hidden logical reason behind this nice "procedure" we got now ? I can't seem to find any so please, enlightnen me.

The hidden logical reason behind the current procedure is to prevent noobies from prematurely getting sent to Corvus. It is currently being reworked to be simpler, and more logical and user friendly.

If hunting traders or killing SF in nation space looks like an exploit to you, then you should not be allowed to be KOS. Have you considered joining the Vipers?

SuperMegaMynt: great to hear that :D
Roda Slane: if you can't talk with arguments but with insults, best would be to shut the fuck up.

A declaration of war should not be a statement but an action. So, if you want to be all tough and KOS like the cool cats, act it. And that means killing nation pilots in nation space. I assure you that neither UIT, Serco or even Itani would care one iota that you declared them war. It is roughly equivalent to you sitting in Germany and declaring France war. What the hell would they care? Taking a gun to the streets is something different...
Action, not words.

CLM, pirating because we care
Nov 17, 2008 Puciek link
Yes, i would love to make it by action (which would be logical way) but i cannot just start shooting UIT pilots in UIT space because i'm uit and that's the problem.

FF protection is on it's way out... just wait till then.

You may think I am being insulting for the purpose of just being insulting, but you should make a point to recognize that there are many newbs that would sign up for kos, that are just not prepared to be kos. Many of the arguments you make, are the arguments of one of those newbs. It is somewhat of a pain to become kos, and I could stand for it to be a little more convenient, if not necessarily any easier. It will be nice when friendly fire is removed, but there is, and always has been, the old fashioned way. You hunt traders of other nationalities, in the space you want to develop your reputation in. I would consider making a mission to become kos, but since you can just go take an escort mission to a UIT station, and then shoot it on arrival, and then kill some SF, I don't see how I could make a mission that would be much better. I don't at all see it as a game exploit. I do see it as a dirty rotten pirate kinda thing to do, but we are talking about becoming KOS though, so I think it fits.

You think that following procedure doesn't look like and exploit ?:
1. Grab convoy from other faction to designed faction station
2. Upon arrival at destination you must abort mission
3. After aborting mission shoot convoy
4. Now you can fight guards.
Especialy that need to drop missions doesn't look like exploit, not at all.

And good luck with hunting traders around theyr protected space, especialy with so many of them online.

And by insults i mean that half of your posts were in fact insults, but hey it's only as i see it.

Also what's wrong with newbie beeing kos when "he is not ready for it" ? What the hell is that supposed to mean ? That he didn't get circumsision yet or what ?
Nov 17, 2008 Roda Slane link
Not ready for it, as in being stuck in a nation's space, that you are kos in, when you can't buy a ship that can outrun or dodge the sf.

Not ready for it, as in can not kill the sf.

Not ready for it, as in can't find, catch, or kill a trader.

? You know, if you are just so lame that you can't find an easy target, and can't kill a hard target, what exactly would be the point in you even being kos?
Nov 17, 2008 Puciek link
I guess beside insulting we cannot read, oh well, we need halfeducated idiots too.

The current way to drop standing is "Simple and logical". It just isn't always easy. Good thing. I would hate for untalented unskilled wannabe cry babies like you to be kos and trick a newb into thinking you might actually be able to kill something. And what good is an education doing you, if you can't figure out that some badges of merit are for the special olympics and some aren't. You want a gold star? Go kill an orun. You want to be KOS? Prove that you can be.
