If you're cocky enough to try grey space trade in a mothXC, you deserve to have your vessel pirated...
it should definitely push up the profits for local grey space items, and hopefully an equal drop in interspace trading profit...

This is a great idea to implement in groups but making an entirely unbalanced addition just for the benefit of pursuers wont fix anything if the current pursuers are having trouble catching trade ships (and nerfing trade ships wont do anything if your dumbass can't pilot a ship efficiently).
They could just use a script or something to auto-plot when they are within the 1000m of their prey, oh wait, they do have a script for that.

Can I call bull on this?
Right now a rat can have POS in every area. He can follow you anywhere he wants to, blow you up, grab what he wants (if he even wants to take anything), and jump quickly out, returning when the temp KOS is over to regain his standing in less than 30 minutes.
Rats have it damn easy, if you ask me.
Edit: Replying to spidey's post, since the "reply" button doesn't seem to work right.

thats if the pirates sole objective is to be a dick...
A pirate can chase a player into protected space if he wants but hes still not going to make more than 200~500k off a well filled moth.
Trading missions need to be fixed and so does the faction system.
the "slow" convoys are extremely well defended (most of the time theres a bug that makes all the fast combat escorts move ahead that needs to be fixed) if the bug doesn't happen its extremely hard to take down more than 1~2 ships before you are killed.
I'm just saying if you trade in grey with a taur its pretty much impossible to catch up with anything else than a hogII (that needs to be nerfed) or a valk.
pirating a moth is easy and so is taking out an XC, but anything else is near impossible.
if you're a player serious about trading in grey you should have VPRs escort you if you don't you deserve to be killed. Grey needs to be more dangerous to players, even smart one.
anyways this idea would make chasing easier because right now its near impossible without the neat plugin.
I'm abesolutly not saying pirates should make more money... im saying that greyspace needs to be more dangerous and atm pirating really isn't encouraged, because its now very costly (ship prices) and a very slow way to make money, that i why I salute our pirates. :P

I don't think this is necessary for the chasers. When I trade in grey some pirates never catch me and there are some that always catch me, so I think there is skill to develop in pirating. No need to make it easier.
Wouldn't it be fun if you could force someone into your wormhole without their consent? What if when you activated close enough to them, then they were automatically sucked in with you? This kind of tactic could be used by pirates, or against them. If you don't like being dragged around against your will, then stay within 3,000m of a rock.
The artificial WH creator could be an add on, like one of the mine launchers. Perhaps it would allow warping near asteroids, for a quick-get-away. Perhaps entering it would require less energy, or spits you out with more.
