Destructible sub-stations
Wondering if ability to have more than one station in a sector will allow the temporary destruction or incapacitation of these new sub-stations. Ability would allow strategic strikes against opponent's national production capacity - e.g., incapacitated mining sub-station would reduce sector's refining capacity by 25% until repaired, etc. Suggest 3-5 assault craft with escort minimum necessary to successfully prosecute such a strike.
It would work. All we need is a parked Capital ship. The only trouble is we need a new model for it, and that isn't happening.
We could use some of the smaller station models, though. Can you guys allpy models like that, or do you need specifics?

If I recall correctly, the stations are all built out of a set of different modules. However, I doubt it would be anywhere near easy to make station submodules destroyable.
Great Idea! We need to make space strategic thru property that is vulnerable.
Don't need things going boom - a burning, smoldering wreck would do fine (maybe better). Perhaps by overlaying the ship damage animations over the station graphics.
