How possible is it to have separate chat fields so they you don't have a jumble all chat in one field?

Any more ideas about this?

It would be nice if you could easily access and filter all chat from your current session. oh and timestamps would be cool too.

What about having separate .logs for each chat field?

It would make sorting through logs easier.

One .log for Channels, one for Groups, guild, Sector, and System? Maybe just Channels/Sector/System in one file, groups in one, and guild in one.

I think a private message chat field would help with the clutter as well.

A tabbed chat interface, yeah, it's been suggested before. :)

But beyond the tabbing thing, being able to dynamically adjust what things are displayed in your chat field would be useful -- For example, you could make a bind to hide all but PMs/Sector-chat for the duration of a duel and be able to scroll back up to them later.

But I don't want all chat in separate tabs. I *hate* having to click on stuff when I'm supposed to be piloting my ship.

The separate tab for "The Bar" in each station is a particular peeve of mine.

That's what the "All" tab is for. ;)
