Polling

I propose a method (I'm not sure what) be introduced that would allow devs to poll the player-base for feedback on ideas. Thus enabling them to better understand how welcome/necessary a particular change may be. The first thing I would like to be polled would be this thread:

well, we should start out with polling this one surely?

Seems like a good idea but, if you look at the amount of people who play VO Vs. the amount of people who post here it wouldnt be a very accurate representation of the general player base opinion.

Does not mean its not a good idea...just needs to represent the actual player base as opposed to the regulars who post here.

Devs have heard all we had to say in the last 5 years in this forum.
Hundreds of brilliant ideas and suggestions are here and waiting to be implemented.
They are quite aware how welcome/necessary particular changes are.

Alas, player-base and devs priorities are quite different.
Polling results would just make them annoyed and you know what would happen?

Nothing, zero, zilch.

For now, the devs are the best judge of priority because they're making some major changes in the code that impact what could or should be done, and in what sequence.

Bojan, I am not suggesting that the players control the existence of polls, that would need to be done by the devs only when they wanted to.

It is a loose idea at best. It just struck me that when we post a thread and it gets 50 replies, how many of those are repeats, how many are single posts, how reflective of the VO opinion is the thread?

I am not proposing a democracy, Guild Inc. is a business entity whose decisions are theirs alone. I just wonder if they sometimes want to get an accurate temperature of the player-base and if a poll is a viable option.
