Displaying ships to scale in the Buy_Ship screen
I was surprised to find that the Hornet was such a large ship the other day - I knew it was a largish ship comparatively but didn't realize it was quite *that* large (especially since its mass is at the low-end of the scale for a medium-sized ship). Than I realized why I was surprised - the in-station screen for buying ships scales each ship to fully fit into the window. This has the effect of making it seem like all the ships are the same size even when, rationally, it's apparent that they are not.
I'd like to suggest that the ships be displayed to scale in the Station>Ship>Buy>Buy_Ship screen (with the Maximize button left as is to examine ships in detail when desired). Perhaps a button to toggle between scale and fit-to-window views or a small numeric scale could be added or a pop-up silhouette chart showing all ship classes at relative scale to each other or a transparent scale wire-frame of an EC-class ship for comparison.
Emphasizing that all ships aren't the same size is especially important for new players who are initially trying to determine just how much variety there is in the VO universe.

Oh yes, that would be good. At least until you can start buying capships in the same window.
Actually scaling the ships and stations ingame, outside of the station, sounds like a better use of time to me...
