Suggestions for unexplored systems
I don't see a thread for new systems, so I guess I'll post one. After reading Incarnate's latest news post I think that making a thread about them would help later when the devs are finally able to add them.
First off, new systems shouldn't be announced but can be hinted at. Intrepid explorers who find wormholes leading to a new system should get the credit via news reports. And they should get the chance to give it a name.
My idea for a new system would be one with a black hole in the center. That means no asteroids (they would be sucked in). There would probably be gas miners around the outer fringes of it. Because of a black hole's range of influence, much of the space around it cannot be traversed (unless you wanna be black hole food). You can see the black hole's accretion disk and polar jets in the distance, and it all radiates an eerie multicolor glow...
Anyone else got ideas? :)

Cool Idea, should be easy to implement since there isn't really anything to actually make besides the images. Mining gas currently isn't possible, unless the gas is in 'balls' like roids... and they can be heated, lol.
Crazy Idea. If this was a player system, meaning that players could create stations, or outposts or you know anything, it would give the devs an excuse for inactivity for the outpost over say 2 months.
"Your Station has decayed in orbit due to inactive Positioning Drives. It was deemed unrecoverable by the distance it is from the event horizon of BH113. In the future, be sure to check on your Stations more often."
There should be some kind of message you receive though if anything you currently own is in danger of being inactive for too long...

i think it would be awsome to have a new Universe and how about some new Factions ships and weapons as well for that universe i dont know about the making stations thing but i do like the Black Hole idea and maybe the Universe could be our Universe just not in the SOL radius (SOL is what our Universe is called if anyone did not know)
spacewolf, PUNCTUATION......plz.....
From what I read in the newspost, a brand new universe is unlikely. The systems we're in now will be the "core" systems. New systems would be added to these and it will up to the players to explore and find them.
Here's another system players could find... Once the wormhole is found players will not find any ancient abandoned alien stations, belts, or nebulas. Instead they'd find a Dyson Sphere filled with bots of all kinds. And it would have to be destroyed. And to do that, players would have to find the entrance, and destroy every single sector of the thing by killing the Leviathan that's at the core of each section. Then they have to free the star at the system center by destroying the bot that's the core of the sphere itself.
I like the Dysons Sphere idea.
I like this idea too. It won't be easy to implement it tho. Creation of an entire system on the fly might not be so easy. After the Dyson's Sphere is destroyed, it might take the devs a while to switch it over, or whatever.
Not really, I think. The system would be littered with huge chunks of scrap metal. Too huge to be simply hauled away. Instead we could mine the scrap for technology and material. Players could set up their stations (both guild and individual) in some nice prime real estate. :)
"Can I make a suggestion that doesn't involve violence...or is this the wrong crowd?"

why destroy it? just clear it out and use it. a Dysons Sphere would be huge. for those who arent familiar with the concept...think an inverted planet. its built around a star with the star at the center and at a safe distance with stuctures...(housing factories...etc...etc built on the inner surface. for example, if a Dysons Sphere were built around the Earths sun, it would be roughly 150,000,000km in diameter. of course the distance and therefor size would vary greatly based on the size of the star.
so instead of destroying it, inhabit it. you could build stations on the interior/exterior, or if it were very large and the star had diminished in size due to extreme age, you could build stations inside the sphere orbiting the sun.
though im not certain how easy it would be to implement. definately be very very cool though.

Well a Dyson's Sphere doesn't rotate. It's placement is perfectly centered around the entire system.
ah...me thinks thou doth misunderstand my meaning.
"you could build stations inside the sphere orbiting the sun."
the STATIONS orbit the sun...the Dysons Sphere cant orbit the sun becuase the star is at the center of the shpere acting as its power source.
sorry for the confussion.

The connection between bots and untapped resources is good for the PvE mechanics; you do a 'raid', so to speak, and get as a reward get your 'loot'. If I may...
Evidently, the hive through it's unbridled development has developed a way to create temporary WH's, involving a system of linked outposts. Unfortunately the process is too complex to mimic at this point, however it can be triggered by severely damaging their ranks. After sustaining enough losses, the Hive will be forced to open up a connection to a series of currently unexplored (by humans) territories. Expeditionary forces can then follow them, reaping the sweet, concentrated ores that the hive keeps clustered for their own use. Naturally, the deeper into the network, the richer the spoils. However, if the exploration team doesn't make it back before the temporary WH's collapse, they must find/create an alternate route back, or risk being stranded.

Nice idea Mynt. This will undoubtedly make the "/explode" command more useful...
Mwahaha.
Or maybe you travel around and you find a ramshackle station built by others who were trapped there before you. And perhaps they're very close to unlocking the wormhole nearby to the core systems. Then they would put you on a series of missions to either gain materials, supplies, or technology for the station which may lead to you being able to escape and/or be able to keep the wormhole stable at the same time.
As for yet another idea for a system... the players would find the wormhole to the system (by accident, of course). When they explore they'll find ancient ruins strewn all over the system that somehow feel familiar. Eventually the players translate the artifacts found at the many ancient abandoned stations, moons, and asteroids and find something startling...
The story of why the system was destroyed. The players would find out that the system they just found was destroyed by four powerful entities because it was not "good" enough for their grand scheme. They also find that it may not be the only system to suffer this fate. Now who could those four entities be?

We could also explore a proto system. A star that's just newly formed and planets that aren't quite planets yet... the gas giants being nothing more than tightly knit nebulas and the rocky planets all molten blobs of magma. There won't be any colonizing of this system since large chunks of rock are always flying randomly about. And in an environment that's as bad as an Ion Storm, no one wants to get smacked around by them.

Hey yea, that's a cool idea. And if the devs ever make this game chronological, it could eventually form into a system...
A system idea inspired by Freelancer. The entire system is like the Ion storms we keep encountering, but without all the glitter and visibility is limited to 10k. In this system is a ton of floating wreckage; the remenants of a major offensive between the Itani and Serco very long ago. Players can mine the wreckage for scrap metal, and there's a tiny chance that they may find weapons crates floating around (randomly spawned).
