The stations in V-O are very well designed. This is just a suggestion for how to place the exit ports from the station. I don't know if there are specific names for each stations design, but the one that does this is in the Serco Barracks station in Sol II.

One of the exit gates sends you flying low and close to the station. This really increases the feeling that the station is really big.

It would be a nice tough if more of the exit gates sent you out along the station so you flew close and low to it. Entrance gates need to be nice and easy IMHO, but exit gates should provide a sense of awe.

I agree that stations are well designed, but I would bring up one point that's also troubled me for sometime about how we launch.

I understand WHY the shielded bays were added, I was around when the L-Mine traps would be set in a major battle, and kill your opponent before he got a chance to blink.

What I don't understand is more of how the ships get moved across the interior of a station from the docking port to the launch port.

A suggestion for future designs (not current since I know it'd be insanely difficult to fix), would be to either physically stack the ports, or just have us land in the shielded port anyways. The shields don't stop the ship from entering, it only stops weapons fire.
