mining range...
so the other day after a hive skirmish i saw some UIT ships...(NPC)...mining from a great distance. I came to a complete stop next to a Taur, and targeted the roid he was mining. it was over 400 meters away! what gives? we have to be 100 meters or under to scan/mine but the bots can mine at 400 meters?
also, sometimes with the larger roids i'll have one targeted, be directly in front of it and it says its to far to mine so I have to fly around to the other side. any way that can be changed?
at any rate on to the suggestion...any way the mining range can be increased? also mining multiple roids would be very cool...especially when cap ships/stations become player owned.

The second phenomenon you described is, I think, due to the fact that your distance meter measures distance to center, and not distance to surface, of asteroids. This sometimes allows one to jump well before the distance meter has reached 3 km, and in turn it requires one at times to find another spot on the 'roid to mine it.
thanks for the explanation. but, it would still be cool if the Devs increased the players mining range...or nerfed the NPC mining range..."balance" and all that. but it seems low priority so, doo it after we get cappies and stations of our own.
if you want to see something really boggling, trying ramming a sedentary collector bot until hes over 1000m away, and still mining...
