Nation convoy guards: Use nation ships?
Well, I recently started a convoy in Serco space, only to see that the poor guards are stuck using Vulture MkIV and Warthogs.
I mean, please, come on, give the guys a Serco Vult and perhaps a Prom? It would greatly boost the diversity and a chance to actually see the nation ships outside X1 missions, BS and such.

100% agreed.

It was a good idea when I posted it a few years ago, and it's a good idea today. Staying power!

Definitely agreed. Maybe even use Marauders for the cargo ships in UIT.
Heh, use the Marauder for the cargo ships and use the smaller UIT factions for the guards? that would be cooler too.
Agreed. The UIT is all about money. Everyone knows that less ships = less cost. So Marauders all around for defense and cargo at the same time
YAY

lol, just add the turrets like on the moth heavies!
Yes please load down already easy to hit ships (that die from one slap with a quad rail) with cargo and turrets, I beg you.
On a serious note.
axia voys should have axia wriaths and ec's for escorts with moth heavys and axia mauds and axia wriaths (in place of atlasses) for cargo ships
TPG voys should have raptors, atlas of dooms for escorts and atlas x's maud b's and XC moths for cargo ships
orion would use the orion hornet convoy gaurdian (wich ive only seen assaulting convoys) and rev c's
etc etc

Yes , I'd agree with that . More variety all round , with a bit of randomness thrown in.
Same goes for HS , a full variety of hive bots would be welcome , even the odd furie ....

Bumping this thread because the longer I play VO, the more I think this is necessary. More differentiation between factions will help make the VO universe feel more expansive and vital.
Faction stations should be protected by faction ships. Escort ships should reflect the shipper's faction. Maybe not every ship but at least one or two for the station guard/escort commanders.

Ok, I made a ticket for this. To cover Convoy Escorts, Strike Forces, Station Guards, Marshals and the like. It'll require some juggling, to try and balance out their relative combat effectiveness, but it's a good thing for us to do.
Yes! :-)
Happiness. And really looking forward to the changes mentioned in the news as well. Thanks to all the devs for their time and hard work. Cheers!
You don't necessarily have to balance them too well Inc. It wouldn't hurt if some convoys were better defended than others. Maybe Orion is more militaristic and as such protects their convoys better than BioCom. Thus killing an Orion convoy would be vastly more difficult than killing a BioCom convoy. And if you get them to ship some of the items that you only find on faction stations (like BioCom minelaunchers) the difficult convoys would still become targets, but maybe now for concerted attacks.
As I see it right now, any convoy has the same difficulty and as such it is only the time it takes for the pirates to scoop up treasure that has any effect on how many convoys come through. Oh, and yeah definitely stamp of hurry up and do:)
