CtC Quick Fix
No, really. *Quick* fix. CtC logs how many crates you bring in. In addition to only the winning side being able to purchase n3's for the week, for that week you personally only get to buy as many crates as you personally delivered the previous week.
"But I helped my teammates get the cargo back, even if I didn't deliver any!"
If they're really your teammates, then make them share. They did the hard, boring part anyways. You can buy from other players.
"I'm UIT, but I helped deliver crates on both sides."
Good job. But since you only delivered *x* to the Serco side, and they won, you can only purchase those *x* this week.
"Zomg. I like delivered so many crates, but my team lost, so now I can't buy any."
Tough. But more importantly, incentive to win!
"No fair, so-and-so has like, a gajillion n3's stocked up."
Server purge. ';..;' Reimbursement with credits?

It's an idea worth considering. I like it.
Totally. Perhaps with a slight buffing of the NIII aswell?
Or go a step further:
-- Nerf the N3 a tad - The Nation that wins gets access to it, by current CtC rules.
-- The folk actually doing the CtC get exclusive access to an N4 under the rules suggested by Logoffskies.

this is a good idea. but don't nerf the N3 make it more awesome because it'll be hard to get under these rules
The folk[s] actually doing the CtC get exclusive access to an N3 under the rules suggested by Logoffskies.
Best. Idea. In. Thread.

yeah, the N4 idea was just to avoid a purge. The bottom line is the exclusivity of the CtC prize to who does CtC...and wins.
/me adds a line from dot to dot...
While I do like the basic idea, I don't think the restriction should be a 1-to-1 exchange. We lose more guns than we return, so perhaps a 2-to-1 (Gun-to-Crate) exchange.
And I like the N3 National, and the N4 Participant style of things, and it would avoid the unpleasantness of a server purge.
Might also want to let bot kills count towards weapons. That way if I kill an enemy CTC transport or escort, I still get points, even if a wingman or allied pilot returns the cargo to base.

Even quicker fix; jack up the monetary reward for delivering crates. Ship prices have increased, new missions give out more money. If the credit reward was actually worth the time it takes to do a 6 jump delivery mission (which itself probably gives out more money) then people would take the time to do it. Maybe something like a fraction of a percent of the escort missions? I know that would be on line with game breaking, but there should be incentive to take this opportunity when you have it

Or skip the money then gun buying, give em n4s when they deliver the crates.
