prevent dropped stuff from landing inside objects
When I'm mining with automatic dropping the cargo sometimes lands inside the mined roid. would be nice if there was some mechanism that prevented that. it's still possible to get at it with some trickery but that kinda cheating..
would also help against lmining stations and stuff.

Is this the bug caused because the collision meshes are less detailed than the visual meshes?
no.. it's because ships drop cargo behind them and mines in front.
Simple workaround is to just face the roid when mining but I don't always remember that.
This also sometimes happens when a ship crashes into a roid and blows up.

I think you just answered your own request, or at the very least, gave it an appropriate, astronomically-low priority.

yah .. I don't claim it's a big problem. It's just kind of annoying when it happens.
There are a couple of scenarios where intentionally or accidentally dropped into roid cargo could be bigger issue, but that was what just happened to me...so uhm ..meh
