Radar Extender for XC
Does anyone else think it would be neat for the TPG-built XC to have built-in radar extenders, like the raptor... it wouldn't give it much of an advantage, and chances are, if you get caught in a storm with hostiles, you'll still die, but at least you'll have some more warning, and maybe half a chance of avoiding any 'roids in your path.
I second this idea. Wouldn't give a military advantage since the XC is unarmed anyways. I can't see how it would hurt.
I likey. Especially for shipping very large amounts of heavy things. It's INCREDIBLY annoying when you get caught in a storm and you run into a roid that you can barely see at an unstoppable speed.
Most traders will know what I mean.

Theoretically, supplies are necessary for military endeavours. Admittadly I only need to take an XC worth of supplies to my base of operations in Deneb O-3 about once a week, but nonetheless... this *will* affect gameplay balance noticeably.

This is true for hostiles that also have extended detection ranges in storms. (You're obviously referring to bots, but they are not the only hostiles in the universe.) However, it does not take much manueverability for one who does have the extender to avoid someone who does not have this capability.

You are young and impatient. Slow down in storms, or plot around them; they *are* meant to be an obstruction afterall... A better fix than to negate the effects of a storm would be to just get rid of them altogether, which makes one wonder why they're in place at all. (Atleast, I'm hoping it does, and one is not reading this sentence to mean "They should not exist!". Seriously, consider why we need ion storms in the universe. They *are* important.)
Most of all, why the XC? The Raptor suffers from significantly defective maneuverability, and individuality. Thus the radar extender was implemented for good cause. The XC is designed to be a sitting duck in space. Not only would this addition go against the grain of it's supposed purpose, but would be a step in decreasing the Raptor's uniqueness. Not that there aren't any good reasons for this suggestions, but I'd like to hear more on why the XC of all ships would benefit from this advantage.

I agree with SMM
What are you doing piloting an XC into such dangerous sectors anyway? With no escort? Take caution, captain!
